Birdcage veil with my dress *flash*

Marylou-lou, 8 December, 2010 at 19:40 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi, I need your advice on this dilemma. I have already bought my dress as below (It's boxed on top on my wardrobe ?) I can only get the top half on the picture, but its very simple A line with a small puddle train.

My dilemma is I would like a birdcage veil and wondered if it would go with this quite traditional dress? The veil will look a little like these ideas
:

I need to get the dress taken up by a dressmaker who is willing to use bits of the excess material to make a small fabric flower for the decor on the veil.

Also I want to wear my hair long and straight but bouncy (hopefully) A la Jennifer Aniston style when she married Brad. My sisters reckon an updo would suit a birdcage veil and I understand why but I reckon my face suits hair framing my face! Aghh what do you all think? Plus I'm convinced I have a double chin and the hair hides it a bit!!

Thanks for your replies. It makes me feel better. Funny, but I never typed that in Google ? I suppose it's what I would feel comfortable with. I have another pic of another veil I like:

I think it would look lovely together especially if the flower is the same material as your dress which is very gorgeous I should add. Why not have a few hair trials to see what you prefer the best. All I'd say about your hair up is that it really is much easier on the big day as you don't need to worry as much about the wind messing it up, rain making it frizzy etc. My wedding day was so windy that if I'd stuck to my original plan of hair down I wouldn't have been able to have any outdoor photographs without hair blowing about and it would have been a tangled mess instantly from stepping out of the car.
