Birmingham jewellry quarter rings

GemGem81, 1 September, 2011 at 16:01 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi

We are going to Birmingham Jewellry Quarter this weekend to buy our wedding rings (v. excited, feels very real!!!!). Has anyone else got their rings from there and are there any particualr shops you can recommend.

Also would anyone mind giving me an idea of how much you paid for your rings there? We are looking for plain rings, in Platinum for me and metal tbc for my O/H!

Thanks for any advice!

xx

We got my engagement ring from there the place is brill. Take cash - you can haggle them right down, and watch out for discounts - we didn't realise that the shop we were in had 20% off everything so we got a right bargain! I don't really want to say what my ring cost but I was astounded at some of the prices - the ring in the cabinet next to mine was 33 thousand pounds!!! On the flip side there are some great bargains - we got my OH a very heavy weight plain 18 carat white gold band, can't quite remember how much but about 500 pounds which was a real deal.

Hi, we had ours from a shop called NEWEY's, virtually opposite the train/tram station.

I had a platinum shaped ring and OH had a plain palladium band. I can't remember exactly how much but we got mine made to fit my ER and the other one, , , both for less than just mine would cost in any other shop that we had been in, , ,

GOOD LUCK Hun, , , keep us posted, , ,

    xx

We got my engagment ring and then our wedding rings from Crystal Link. I would highly recommend the shop. Make sure you haggle. Also the rings are quite expensive but you do get a lot more for your money. The quality of the diamonds are excellent compared to what you would get in a high street shop. My engagment ring is bespoke and my wedding ring was made to fit round my strange shaped engagement ring in platinum and it was quite reasonable compared to what the high street shops were quoting for far less quality diamonds.

And there is a lovely small cafe on the same street as the jewelrey quarter museum if you want something to eat. And the museum is definitely worth a visit if you have time for the tour and is very reasonably priced.

    Have fun.

I can recommend Neweys aswell, we got my engagement ring and both our wedding rings there. They are really friendly and helpful, made alterations to my ring free of charge and cleaned and polished my engagement ring for nothing (also wrote on the receipt that I can go and get it done again the week before the wedding for free). I had a plain palladium band and OH had quite a thick gold band and it was only £244 for both, so their prices are really good as well.

We got ours from the jewellery quarter, but not from a "Normal" jewellers! Ours is from a company called Geti Designs who make made to order titanium rings. Lovely bloke that was there and there prices are fantastic. My OH is actually up there tomorrow to get my ER polished ready for our wedding in a couple of weeks.

I can also recommend Neweys, they were the cheapest by a long way when we went round the JQ. We haven't bought ours yet so I can't comment on the service but from the sound of everyone elses experience it seems as though they tick that box too!

Thanks for everyone's advice. Worked a treat!! We also ended up at Newey's and got a really good price. They were much friendlier than a lot of the places we went to as well and very helpful!
