So is yours! I think thats the whole point - you can have a low budget wedding - but it doesn't have to be cheap!

We don't have a budget as such, just trying to spend as little as possible! We are putting our family contributions together to pay for the venue (around 6.5k), my mum is paying for the bridesmaids outfits and a bit towards my dress and we are paying for the rest. I am hoping it won't come to more than around 2k and we can spread the cost over the coming months so it doesn't end up on credit cards etc.

I'm hoping around 10k but that's no honeymoon, will have to wait and see if we have money for that. I keep thinking about all the money and what else we could use it for and half wishing we just had a really cheap day at Gretna green or somewhere. But I do love our venue just think prices are ridiculous at nearly 7k to feed people. Sorry turned into a rant! X

Gosh it is alot of money , we are getting married late in the day and just having a buffet. That way we only feed people once and looking at sit down prices were so expensive. And if anyone is hungry after there is a kebab shop round the corner Smiley tongue

We are £10 for wedding and £4k for Honeymoon...Honeymoon came in slightly under, and wedding is looking to be slightly over - but still £14k altogether ?

Ours started at 15k but is rapidly increasing. It doesn't include honeymoon, the VOG which I decided on later or the dinner for 24 people at the RSC the night before the wedding that OH decided to book last month for his overseas guests so I dread to think what the final bill will be.

As we have over 20 people flying in from Australia and all over the world we need to make sure we look after them. Luckily they are not big drinkers.

Ours was 6k but can't find a way of doing it under 12k ! So it's just save save save which isn't the easiest when I'm on maternity leave!

Initially I was adamant I was not going to send more than £5000 on one single day....however once we statred looking and thiking more about it decided to go for it as we have the money, we're lucky to have good jobs so decided to have exactly what we want - but me being a bargain hunter have still tried to economise and not go over the top tooo much. Its not my first wedding but certainly my last and for the first time am getting married purely because I want to so am paying to share what I hope will be a fab day with family and friends. I don't know how much the honeymoon will cost yet, thats down to the OH but the wedding totaly I think, although I've not ordered everything yet, but I think its goiont to come in around 12 grand, and considering what we have got, I'd say BARGAIN!!! lol

Agree its not what you spend, its about getting married and being happy with YOUR day.

    This is a good post,

we said it would be great to have our whole day for our budget of £9000, but its more looking like £12000,we have got some great deals with our venue and its on a bank holiday weekend?. I also got my wedding ring half price in the January sale. I would not like to know what it would have been if we didn't get some deals .

Im sure i will work it out towards the end so I can say to my H2B, We have spent xxxx amount but...... look at what we have saved!!! well this is my plan ?

Its been ten years that me and h2b have been together,we have been together since we were 15 and have two wonderful girls.....for us this is the next chapter in our lives one that I have waited for, for a long LONG time.....I just cant wait to be MRS CASSIDYXX

Hi, our budget is about 17000 including our honeymoon (which is 3500). We are similar to some of you in that the most expensive art is the food - about 7000! crazy money for something which will be gone in an hour!

Our official budget is £5k (RO ceremony followed by evening reception only) but I can easy see it squeaking over that by £1k by the time all the booze is paid for, my massive pile of wedding magazines, my cake-making stuff, and all the other niggly little bits and bobs, plants, compost, seeds, OH is growing our photo backdrops but not including these in the costs! We haven't quite got the hang of 'calling in favours'- the DIY elements are not always as cheap as they're cracked up to be. But it makes it more personal and we are on a bit of a crusade to keep our money out of the pockets who target marrying couples and add 00s to their prices when the W-word is involved (mainly venues but everything else too). Some of our more well-to-do guests may not appreciate our rustic touch, but I think we're doing alright and I'm really looking forward to it.

Our budget is £10,000 but I am a bargain hunter and I like a challenge so I want to make it as beautiful as possible for as little as possible.

I've managed to get £200 knocked off the ceremony hire and I've come up with a really lovely idea to combine centrepieces with wedding favours, rather than expensive floral arrangments...I am determined to make it special without breaking the bank! ?

Ours is between £10k and £12k.

It seems your trying to justify your budget, a wedding is what you make it not what you spend, I know the priceless moments are going to be getting ready with my family and friends in the morning, seeing my 20 month old running round having fun, marrying my OH and dancing the night away!
