Black jeans - are they 'out'?

Diefenbaker, 27 March, 2009 at 21:35 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

I want a new pair of black jeans and can find none that aren't Granny-style (waist up to your neck and 'comfort fit') or are too long for me (short arse!)

I'm sooooo not a fashionista - am I barking up the wrong forest?

Topshop do good ones, I think they're called Eve, and they do dark black. Oasis are good too, although they only do standard and long leg, whereas TS go shorter.

I bought some skinny black jeans from Next a few weeks ago.

Dorothy Perkins usually have them, as do Mango.

On the budget end, New Look's Hula jeans are pretty good and only a tenner. They do black ones. They're a little higher than hipsters but not stomach covering by a long stretch.

I tried on a pair of really nice black jeans in Oasis the other day (i was actually looking for a top and wanted to see what it looked like with jeans) and ended up liking the jeans more than the top! ? I'm only 5'4" and usually find their regular length I can get away with (especially by wearing them with heels). Might be worth taking a look.

Oh and the ones I usually get are the "Amber" style which are bootcut but still low waisted and have a handy bit of stretch too. ?

Apparently coloured denim is 'in' this year (according to several magazines I've read lately, its all pink and yellow) ?

I got black jeans quite recently from Dorothy Perkins, but also tried some in New Look

Ah, I tried 'Hula' on and they were up to my belly button, uncomfortably so. Thanks though.

Thanks, all. Oasis have apparently shut down round here but I will try TS and DP. At least I know that they have some and it won't be yet another fruitless shopping trip!

    Thanks again.

I have my eye on this: http://www.oasis-stores.com/fcp/product/Oasis/All-Denim/Gothic-Denim-Mini/3240053701 and am waiting for it to go into the sale... I don't think it's going to happen!

I bought some black straight leg jeans (too fat for skinnies) from New Look, not Hula but still their own brand, and they were only 20 jibs. I loof them.
