Has anyone seen the Musical Blood Brothers? Whats it like? Some friends are wanting us to go see it with them but to be honest, I've never really heard of it and OH isn't a musical fan!

Yes I've seen it twice - it was excellent. Its about 2 brothers split at birth - one has hard council upbringing and the other is quite rich, private school etc

    Very good to watch!

Loved it, very popular in Liverpool and seen with Barbara Dixon in years ago. Still remember crying my eyes out.

H and I both loved it. It's possibly one of our favourite musicals.

I went to see Blood Brothers last year with OH, we both loved it. I thought it was really funny in bits.

My sil went to see Fame and thought it was terrible, she loved Chicago. I have't been to see any of the others.

I have seen it a fair few times (my cousin played Mickey one of the Brothers for quite a while) and it is one of my favourite musicals. My OH had never really been to one and it was the first one he saw and he loved it, we have been to most musicals since then but he has never liked them as much as Blood Brothers. Despite the fact I have seen it lots of times, I always cry!

    Have fun.

It's a fabulous musical, but take tissues. I've seen it quite a few times now... I took a coachload of 14-16 year olds last time and they all loved it too. Not often you see 'hard boys' sniffling quietly into a tissue.

I'm taking the same kids to see Fame next year. I saw it many moons ago and don't remember being very impressed, but I'm sure they'll love it.

Flashdance is very good, as are full monty and chicago. My boss saw caberet recently and enjoyed it, but he felt Wayne Sleep overplayed his role somewhat. (I've no idea if Wayne Sleep is still in it, and my boss is a drama teacher and likes to critique everything he sees...)

I saw it a few years ago at The Mayflower, Southampton. Brilliant musical, well worth the money going to watch it.

We've seen Blood Brothers about 3 or 4 times and loved every one. We took our two oldest boys (12 and 14 at the time) once and they thought it was good too - not too much singing for them (they're easily bored ?). Its probably one of the only times I've seen MrD crying in public, although he still maintains he had something in his eye ? We've seen it with Lynn Paul (used to be a New Seeker I think) and a couple of times with a couple of Nolan sisters and they were both brilliant.

It'll make you laugh and it'll make you cry and the scouse humour is brilliant (and I'm a Manc ?) I even have the CD which makes me blub every time I listen to it.

I have seen it far to many times to count as my uncle was in it for several years and also gave us free tickets if we went to london or if he was on the touring show and it came to liverpool. It is excellent and as recommended take the tissues.
