bloody scammers!

sweet-cheeks, 12 April, 2008 at 15:18 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

I've had my car for sale on autotrader and exchange and mart for almost 2 weeks and the only people i've heard from are scammers trying to rip me off....or piss me off as the case may be!

Has anyone else sold their car on either of these and did it take this long for any interest?

    How have you valued it?

Looking at the Parkers guide, the price you're asking would be a good if it had average mileage for its age (40k) but yours is almost double that which would dramatically drop its value.

Maybe thats putting people off? I have to say though that I know nothing about cars and am just going on what I would do if I found a car I liked.

If it's not selling, it's overpriced. Also, when spending that much money people often go to a dealer instead as they get a warranty.

Here are some comparables on Autotrader:http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/AUDI+A4/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146,N-43-51-55-111-144-4294966653-4294966997/search.action

I'm so annoyed with myself...i only had the had 4 months and bought it for £11,000 which is kinda why i'm trying to sell it for nearly that. Didn't want to lose money on it as haven't had it that long and had to rush into it after my last car was written off...

I've now ordered a new car and need to sell this one to pay for it...

[B)] to me for being so fcuking stupid!

You might have got a better price for it by part exchanging it. I really don't think you're going to get £11k for it though, not when there are so many similar cars on there for 3 grand less.

id="quote">Cars are money down the drain... I'm always changing my mind, buying and selling them! Washing my new car today, my neighbour from up the road asked if I was a car dealer ?

I paid £10k for a 206 convertible from a dealer then sold it for £8k six months/ 10,000 miles later... still gutted about that two years later ?

So you actually put it up for more than you paid for it? If I am reading this right and the current price is with the £500 reduction. Really I'm not surprised it didn't sell if that is the case. Cars are terrible money pits ☹️

Bloody hell Sweet Cheeks, you'd have to be absolutely nuts to pay that for a 4 year old Audi with that many miles on the clock.

I'd say on at £9,500 with wiggle room to get down to £9k would be realistic, based on other similar cars out there.
