Booked our venue!

jen52637, 21 December, 2008 at 16:51 Posted on Planning 0 26

Yay!

Just booked our wedding venue and had to share with you guys!

We're both so excited now, it feels so much more 'real' once you have something booked! ?

That's great. When is your wedding? We have booked our reception but they don't want a deposit till January, we book the church then too, we were just saying today how it will feel so real once we do that.

Haha, ok if you guys insist (not that I really need an excuse to talk about it, lol)!

It's going to be on Sunday 5th September 2010 at Cameron House, Loch Lomond! We also don't have to pay our deposit for another two weeks so an relax over Christmas knowing that it's booked but that we don't have to pay til the New Year! ?

Glad you have sorted the venue out Jen. Loch Lomond is just stunning and I used to go there every year for a wee break in the log cabins just 2 mins from Cameron House.

    What else have you booked?

I've just booked a fab piper so if you need a piper just yell and I'll give you his details.

Thanks for sharing my excitement everyone! ?

Beth- Oooh, where are you getting married?

Lynsey- Thanks, I might be asking you to recommend the piper soon! H2B really wants one but I'm kind of thinking it's just an extra expense (although I would also love to have one)! That's all we have booked so far, in the New Year we'll probably book a photographer, ceilidh band, etc. What about you? Where/when are you getting married?

    Hi Jen,

Our piper is £170 and our only luxury really. I'm getting married on 23rd May in Lanarkshire. It's a really relaxed wedding with about 70 during the day and 40ish at night but we are keeping it low key without many frills and stuff. I can't wait.

I've got my dress, veil, jewellery, shoes etc but can't sort out a hairdresser to come to the house which is a shame.

Debs from the forum (BWC) is doing my music and solo singing so I'm really really excited about that. Having a good friend play such an important part is going to make the night even better.

Wow, £170 isn't that expensive really! Do you mind me asking what you get for that? When does the piper play?

Aw that sounds like a lovely wedding!

Have you looked at this lady for hair? http://www.alexismake-up.com/index2.html She comes to houses and seems very well qualified (she did make-up for Ricer City)! ?

I emailed Alexis but she is booked on my day. I'm not wanting my make up done so most people don't like the fact I only want my own hair done and 1 bm because it isn't enough money for them.

I thought £170 was fab. Check out http://www.strictly-piping.com/ and look at the gallery and notice the QE2 in the background. They will be there for about 1.30pm for guests arriving and stay until we are seated for dinner which will be about 4.30pm roughly. Not sure what he plays but he will check out our venue and then we will meet him nearer the time to discuss the music.

Aw, that is rubbish! Do you have any friends who are good with hair you could ask? Or maybe invite your own hairdresser to the wedding and then be like 'While you're here...' ? Are you wanting a simple style or something fancy?

Thanks very much for the link, I will definitely check them out!

Nope no hairdresser friends and my usual hairdresser won't leave the salon because it is a Saturday.

I have got my hair cut into a graduated bob and really like it so I think I just want it down but only a hairdresser can do it so it doesn't look flat within a few hours. If it comes to it I'll just travel to the salon but would prefer to chill out in the house and have people come to me. Not a big issue though I guess.

Beth look at the link I gave Jen. I had contacted them after a recommendation from a mother of the bride at a craft fayre and then Victoria recommended them after Debs told her about them so they come very very highly recommended!

gosh I used a lot of 'recommendation' words there!

Is Fiona all organised for her wedding? It must be soon isn't it?
