Booking venue

Bride2012, 6 February, 2011 at 19:29 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi,

We did another venue visit today to the Petersham Hotel in Richmond, Surrey and we really liked it and want to book it. I hoped you lovely ladies could offer me some advice about what happens next. We will be having our ceremony and wedding breakfast at the same venue.

www.petershamhotel.co.uk

Do we now need to decide on the ceremony time (we can't book registrar until a bit later in the year)? What information will the venue require (aside from the booking fee!)? For those staying overnight in the hotel did you book your hotel room at the same time?

Thanks

Michelle

    Hi

You can ring the registrar to book your date we booked ours 23 months in advance we have chosen our time. The best thing is to meet with the wedding planner of the venue, they will be able to help you with what you need to do, and will know about what is already provided with your venue and get timings

venue will prob want to know how many guests approx, find out what their minimum requirement is etc, our venue has block booked all the rooms out and need to let them know about 12 weeks before if we def want them.

    xx

Thanks for your reply - unfortunately where I live you can only book the registrar a year in advance and we aren't getting married until June 2012 so that will have to wait.

I think I will drop the wedding co-ordinator an email to see if our dates are available and ask what the next steps are.

We just offically booked our venue yesterday and paid the deposit.

They just wanted to know approx number of guests that will be attending, how many rooms to be put on hold for guests that will stay. And that was it, she said they wouldn't need any other information until 4 months before the wedding.

Have you phoned and checked this. It seems that a lot of registrars vary. Although I can't officially give notice until 1 year in advance, I was able to pay a £50.00 fee to book the date and time that I wanted. Might be worth phoning them to see if they offer this service.

    Your venue is lovely
