Booze - is this enough?

LottaVictualia, 18 July, 2012 at 17:37 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hey folks

We are stocking the bar ourselves and I am unsure about the quantities. Any thoughts welcomeSmiley smile

A bit of background: We are having an afternoon reception for about 38 (including 7 children). We are serving Pimms/sparkling wine/non-alcoholic with cream teas. All very relaxed; light drinkers. Evening do for alltogether 65; some of them moderate drinkers. It's a DIY Holiday Cottage wedding and the evening invites state that we are supplying basics and, if special things are wanted, people are invited to bring their own bottle.

This is what we have:

24 bottle white

24 bottles red

24 bottles sparkling wine

100 bottles lager (275ml)

a 75 pint keg of a local ale

8 bottles of Pimms

selecton of non-alcoholic: coke, lemonade, sparkling water, lime cordial, oj

Is this enough, considering that the evening invites say byo?

I would say so. I know different people have different preferences to drink but you've got over a bottle of wine per person, so I'd say you have plenty.

I'd say that's well enough. And you have given people enough info to let them know that if they have a favourite drink then they can bring that themselves.

Thanks, everyone, that's putting my mind at rest a little.

I think you'll be more than fine. There's enough for at least 4 glasses of fizz AND 4 glasses of Pimms for each of your adult day guests - not bad for light drinkers! ?

    There's a decent guide here: http://www.cateringforspecialoccasions.com/drinks.html

Judged by this website, some of my light drinkers will leave as alcoholics ?
