I'm afraid I am of no help but I know how you feel. I have been trying to find borders or patterned stamps for name cards and it is impossible! Good luck!

I assume you've already Googled it? I found a few nice ones just on there but don't really know what you're after.

    Hi,

We used fotolia.com for our artwork for the invites. You do have to pay for the artwork, but I'm not sure that most things are any more than a few pounds. You do have to buy credits in certain lumps and then use those...

The big issue I find is that you have to be quite generic in your search terms and then you get loads of things back and have to trawl through them all which takes a bit of time - basically it all depends on what the person uploading has tagged the image with.

PS - search for autumn leaf border gives you 101 pages of images:

If you know someone who is 'handy' with a package like Photoshop, they could *ahem* borrow an image for you? We have one of those free wedding websites, which has the loveliest border, and my friend 'borrowed' it and its become the theme to our entire wedding stationery.

Or you could pay the artist for their work and buy from a stock art site, like fotolia.... the largest of images is under a tenner I think, and most things you could use as a border for a5 would be cheaper than that. Or, as I understand it, you can buy a vector image that is resizable to use al across the stationary, as you suggest.

Sorry for being a grump, but people do put time and effort into designing things... for a small cost seems only fair to recognise their skill in designing something...

No, £20 isn't a small amount, but on fotolia you have to buy blocks of 10 credits which I think is just over £6. This will easily buy you an image of a suitable size, or even a vector license which will give you an image file you can resize to any size without degradation and the artist gets their cut and you get a good quality image...

Maybe I just know and come into contact with independent artisan types who really struggle with people taking their time and design skills and not being prepared to pay for it...

I am all for paying my way with most things, and to be honest my invites were designed completely differently until my friend was messing about in Photoshop with fonts for me, and mentioned that she could make the invites match the website. The only option other than what she did was to order the stationary from the place in the states which hosted the website, and at $8 per invite plus the international postage, that just wasnt an option. The image wasnt watermarked or stamped, so I did opt for the cheating way on this. But I am very pleased with the results, and wouldnt change how I got to them, sorry.

And Ali, thanks, glad you like them, I adore them. Really hope that you manage to find something to use! And flash when you do ? x

Just a thought in case you can't find anything suitable...

I have seen paper punches which punch out a pattern along the border of a piece of paper/card. I've always thought they looked very effective. This kind of thing is what I mean, you can get loads of different designs: http://www.everythingartandcraft.com//product/DECORATIVE-BORDER-PUNCH--LACE-TRIM/p84316
