Doesn't help you at all but this is on my bucketlist of places to visit. I would love to meet my avatar!

Not been but considered it for honeymoon.

    Turtles!

    Sunrise on Kinabalu!

And a note, better safe than sorry - the Foreign Office has advice against travel in some parts of Sabah. Check before you plan any excursions? I assume you are staying in Malaysia?

    Yea Malaysian side of Borneo

We are staying in Kota Kinabalu (which I've just googled and learnt is the capital of Sabah so thanks for the tip I will check out the Foreign office website)

Sunrise on Kinabalu is definitely doable (although might check if they do a sunset trip as not much of a morning person!)

I have seen lots of stuff I would like to do in other parts of Borneo but as we booked this part of our honeymoon as a package (it was comparably cheaper than booking independently) we already have a weeks accommodation so seems unnecessary to book over night trips elsewhere, although would maybe consider a 1 night stay over elsewhere for the right trip.

We visited a turtle hatchery in Sri Lanka although would be nice to see them in the wild snorkel/with them.

We did Borneo as our honeymoon (10 years ago already!).

Flew into Kinabalu. Climbed Mt Kinabalu (think was 1 night up the mountain)

Go see the turtles laying their eggs, and release baby turtles into the sea.

Diving - some of the best places in the world. We had learnt a year before, specifically so we could dive there. Had amazing week travelling around different locations (Mataking Island is amazing and was pretty unknown)

Orangutans obviously! There is the rehabilation centre to see.

Also Borneo is the only place in the world to see the Pitcher Plant (think thats what it is called) so a walk up montains / through rain forrests is a must to try to find it.

we had 3 1/2 weeks there, and just took it easy. We booked independently, but it was a long time ago.

Enjoy, would love to see some of those places again.
