Boudoir photo shoot....

shwayney, 9 January, 2010 at 17:20 Posted on Planning 0 26

Thinking of having this done after seeing the FYEO thread but so cannot afford the package on there and would want a cd with all the photos on to have at home..rather than in someone elses hands. Just wondered if anyone knew of someone in Surrey or Buckinghamshire that they had used?

I know OH would totally love this!?

I think im going with a woman in Birmingham as she seems nice and cheap and I get all the images on disk. Birmingham may be a bit far for you though!

    Hi,

You might struggle to get a photographer to give you all the images on a cd without any restrictions on printing and sometimes just having a cd can cost you just as much (certainly was when I was looking for a wedding photographer). Even if you do get a cd the photographer would still keep the copyright and have the original files saved so you wouldn't be able to get around the issue of someone else having the images. I may be wrong but just can't image the photographer deleting all their work afterwards.

My session was expensive but worth it. Fingers crossed you find someone.

I have been looking for someone for about a year in the sussex/surrey/hampshire area that does the same, with a more ...reasonable cost, but no such luck, only found one place in brighton and the pics were really tacky and unclassy! Might have to surrender to FYEO, but could only afford one photo!

Was thinking of doing this myself but haven't looked into it. Just did a google search & found http://www.mk-modelportfolios.co.uk/boudoir.html which is based in Milton Keynes, looks like they can come into your house which I quite like the idea of (may stop me thinking about taking my entire wardrobe with me!!)

For those of you who have done this, how far in adavnce did you do your photo shoots before your wedding? (I need time to get into shape!!)

I did mine after the wedding for H's birthday present. I didn't have the time or money before the wedding and thought it would be nice to give him something after all the wedding excitement had died down.

If you're within 20 miles of milton Keynes it looks like is £140 for 2 hours in your own home & you get 3 photos for that (or the same for £195 in their studio). Think I'd prefer to get a small album though rather than a few large prints.

I think you could prob be sure that they wont get on the net, otherwise you coukd probably do a massive claim against them...and no ompany would want to put themselves in that position!

    A few bottles...fine by me! ?

No proper photographer would risk losing their creditability by showing your pics off. I've given my photographer permission to use the photographs to show her clients but that was totally my own choice. You might be like me and just so pleased with the results that you'd show them to the world really. Well excluding my parents, mil and H's friends! lol

Gonna keep searching then!! just think it will potentially be a nice thing to look back on...esp once babies come along and i put on even more weight!!

Good idea about doing it after wedding as a birthday suprise, OH is 30 2011 so might be nice for then.....altho i still dont think i could justify the prices on FYEO somehow ?

Do it! I did it and it was very empowering. I don't live anywhere near FYEO so i just googled boudoir photography and my local area and up came a few names, the studio ended up being 10 mins from where I live. It was a great present and he still can't believe that I did it!

A hitcher (or deadwooder) photographer - Crantock - does boudoir shoots - she did one for a planner about 6 months ago ..http://elizaclairephotography.com/boudoir.html

If I recall rightly she also did Bluewater's Trash the Dress / Rock the Frock shoot...

    She is based in Kent.

She's going to have to start paying me for this, before too long:

You could try Angelica in Crawley, not too far. She's very reasonable (to my mind) and does some interesting work. (And all the images are retouched!)
