Boudoir photo shoot

SoontobeMrsR, 17 April, 2014 at 07:21 Posted on Planning 0 29

Can I ask if anyone has had a boudoir photo shoot as a gift for your OH

im very tempted but as a larger lady a little anxious about it. I've contacted a couple of photographers and one in particular seems lovely but I'd love to hear from any hitched ladies who have done this!

I have Smiley smile It was a lovely experience and much more relaxed than I thought it would be. I was nervous on the days building up to it but once the day was there I was fine because my photographer put me at ease. They know what they are doing and will put you in positions to flatter your figure and make you feel amazing. Go for it!

Like Hoddy said GO FOR IT! Smiley smile I really want to do one for my h2b to open before the ceremony because he certainly won't be expecting it! I too was anxious about the thought of it at first, but after reading about a couple of TOGS, I felt more at ease. They do all of the directing (which is great cos I wouldn't know what to do)! I can't wait! haha!

I've got a groupon voucher for one that I've yet to phone up and organise - must do that soon! I'm a bigger girl and I never thought I'd have the confidence but someone posted a photo of one of their shots and it really inspired me to think I could do it. I'm going to take my wedding undies and, hopefully, get a beautiful photo for my OH that I know he'll love!

I'm deffo giving something like this a thought, it's advertised in a wedding mag I'm subscribed to. I'm not one for showing off glam underwear to my OH on *ahem* "us time" so this would make a great present for him, although I'm not the most curviest think boyish figure but with boobs of people, which makes me lack self confidence.

Honestly we shoot these weekly and everyone is nervous as soon as they walk in the door but a 5 minute chat and a few shots later and you will be ok honestly, by the time you are finished you will not want to stop, that happens at every one of our sessions. Who ever you go for if they have been doing it for a while they will know how to put you at ease.

If 60-65 year olds can do it then so can you but go with your heart, you will be fine, its all about the posing and lighting to get the photos right.

I did one of these photo shoots with For Your Eyes Only. It's an all female team which made me feel really relaxed. I look back at it now and i feel so proud of myself and go oh wow thats me! although it's a great gift for your future husband it's also an amazing way to make feel great about your self. when ever im having a fat day i always get the photos out to cheer myself up.

    Go for it!!!!!

    Hey HotChilli,

As soon as you arrive these girls get rid of your nerves. i was really unsure at first but within 15 minutes of the photo shoot starting i was butt naked and didn't have a care in the world Smiley smile They do put you in some positions that aren't the most comfortable to hold and some you think wtf!! but trust them they know what they are doing and it's well worth it in the end.

I had a bridal one booked but changed it for a bump one and loved every second... pre-pregnancy I was a size 16 when I had my pics done I was 34 weeks pregnant and size 18-20. My H2B loves them too, it's something well worth doing and I know I will defiantly be doing another one at a later date x

We have a high street studio but once a client comes in through the door for there shoot the doors are locked and the whole studio has blackout blinds so no one can see in the studio, its very private, clients get to use a private changing area and if they need any help then Lisa is at the shoot from start to finish to help. Its worked like this for us for years and get so many people coming back again for another shoot?

I built the studio from scratch and it has so many shooting areas that are mainly for Boudoir but for the fashion shoots as well, there are photos on my portrait site that will show you the layout but on the day we change things around all the time to shoot in different area and when you see the final photos and not being there to see how we did it then you wonder where in the studio is that place in the photo that isn't on the main studio photos at http://www.inframe.co.uk, our main Boudoir site is here http://www.nortybutnice.co.uk

I've just recently had one, I hate photos of myself and what I look like with no clothes on but I'd heard people on here say it's a huge confidence boost and I knew my oh would love it and wouldn't expect it so I went for it. I'm so glad I did, it was a huge confidence boost and wasn't scary at all and I love the pictures. I chose fairly 'covered' choices of clothes - a little shorts and vest set, a corset, and bra and knickers with a shirt over the top so my tummy area wasn't exposed. All of the shots were from extremely flattering angles!

I had mine with DaffodilWaves who's on here as she came highly recommended, and it was brilliant!

Can I be nosy and ask who you booked in the end but if you don't want to say then that's ok.

I had mine done with RebelandRomance. It was absolutely out of this world. We met up beforehand for coffee and to chat about the sort of shoot I wanted (although, in the end, we ended up just doing a lot more chatting about random stuff as we got on so well and only remembered to talk about the shoot at the end! Lol), then the photographer booked a location suiting the style that we'd discussed - it ended up being a building in Brick Lane. We got through about 6 outfits and I ended up buying 13 photos, which my OH has framed and put as a collage on the wall and as the background for his phone. It was so ridiculously good fun. Totally worth the money just for the experience, and the photos I've got are stunning. If you're nervous about stripping off, remember you don't have to strip to look sexy. My outfits were: jeans, heels and bra; corset and thong; t-shirt over boy shorts; leather skirt and jacket; evening dress; matching bra & knicker set. My fave pic is one of me in my jeans and bra, and one of OH's fave pics is me in my evening dress.

She was more expensive than some of the other boudoir photographers I looked at - £300 for a 3-4hour shoot, then the photographs were extra (I got them sent on a gorgeous diamante USB stick rather than getting printouts and then got them printed myself, which saved a bit) - but it was definitely worth it! If I had the money, I'd book her as my wedding photographer without a second thought.

I've booked with Bruce! Although I understand a lady does the shoot. She's been great to communicate with putting all my fears aside! I can't wait.

I have looked into this but only by accident as my videographer had a recommendations page. I loved the idea of it for after the wedding as they take lovely photos of you in your dress as well. I'm a larger lady and actually noticed that most of people the lady showed on her website were too.

Lovely to hear such positive comments off people.

I like the idea that you can be so glamorous. More than you would be any other time even more than u would be on ur wedding day.

Its a lovely idea to give as a gift to the groom and I will now consider doing it before the big day. Not after. Just thought it would be a nice excuse to wear the dress again afterwards x

I was thinking of doing this too, but I think it would be for me more than for my OH (I don't think he would really appreciate them to be honest).

No, Stormy (the photographer) did my hair, and she gets a professional in to do the makeup.
