Where did you book this? Are they expensive? I really like the idea as a surprise for my OH!

My OH has dropped some serious hints about wanting one of these but he 'knows' I'd never do one. Actually, having lost four stone, I'm in a place (mentally) where I think I could be brave enough. I know that For Your Eyes Only are the company for them but I've heard good things about other places too - stupidly though I can't remember who they are.

Can anybody recommend anywhere? Hope you don't mind me slightly side-lining your thread Meggiemoo x

Wow PP well done on the weight loss, are you at goal now? Did you use any particular type of diet?

I've done photos shoots in the past, not specifically boudoir ones though - they're GREAT fun, and you feel fantastic afterwards! I've bought a boudoir one via Groupon and it expires in May, so I'm hoping to get to my goal weight by April so I can sneak off in the Easter hols while he's at work and get it done. My H2B is corset obsessed and I bought a gorgeous cream satin bridal corset with a view to wearing it under my dress. I may or may not do that (I bought the corset before the dress as it was a bargain on ebay!) but I will definitely wear it for the photoshoot.

If you're not comfortable prancing round in your underwear, you don't have to - we're going 50's style for the wedding and my dress has a massive circle skirt with loads of net petticoat in red. As my bridemaids also have red net petticoats, I thought I might borrow a couple of those and wear them with the cream corset and bright red lipstick - no need to strip off anymore than that!

Hi! ooo I bet you're so excited!!!! What have you got to wear? I took my wedding lingerie, a black basque and a lovely fancy red lacy corset, I had a brill time and heartily recommend it! I went to Nicola at www.myboudoir.co.uk after reading about a million reviews on YAYW and on here too - she's the best. Mine had packages from £195 but I paid about £400 and I had a really thorough make-over (i needed it!), the shoot and a gorgeous Album. was totally worth every single penny!

I won one. Was a fab experience. I took down my bridal lingerie, tiara, veil, some mens shirts and a babydoll along with some shoes.

I got my hair and make up done as well.

Hiya,i had one done about eight weeks before i got married to give to my husband the day before. I actually really enjoyed it and although i was nervous while i was getting my hair and make up done the actual shoot was totally fine. I had a young guy as a photographer which was my worst nightmare but he was a great laugh,he acted out all the poses for me and put me at ease.

I took three different outfits...babydoll nightie, bra a knickers and a Basque with the stockings shebang (which i never wore and i wish i had off). I found no pressure and if i has wanted the whole shoot to be quite covered up then it would have been fine. My advice is to test your outfits first...do your boobs look good in the bra while lying down etc. Also for me great heels were a must.

The cost of my shoot was £39 for hair make up/shoot and one photo from group on and a bottle of fizz. I ended up buying another photo and the dvd of all my pictures as i doubt i will ever do it again and they ended up offering me a really good price when the thought i was not buying any more he he.

I would just try to relax, enjoy and remember it is the photographers job and they will have seen all shapes and sizes...i have stretch marks which i hate but did not really think about it .

Here are two of the pics..they are photos of photos and the second one is edited as i am in my bra and knickers.

My husband loved them and was really surprised.

(Please don't quote as i will remove the pics in a few hours)

Thanks for the reply. I'm absolutely petrified. I recently lost a ton of weight so my skin isn't great but I still have a peachy bum!! My boobs are also much smaller and I'm not keen on them anymore. Think I'm going to take a black and a red corset, a couple of basques. I really don't want my belly out so things that will cover my belly really. Maybe knee-highs? Dunno if that would be too much with lingerie though!!! I do have some nice shoes. I could also wear the shoes I'm planning on wearing for our wedding.

How much discount did you get? I got my voucher through wowcher so cheap as chips but would like to buy some more pics if they look half decent. They say the photos are already discounted for wowcher people but I highly doubt that! I think it's 5 pics for £250 quid. Not even an option!!!

I had a shoot at For Your Eyes Only in Manchester and they were great. I was very nervous beforehand but they soon put you at ease and before long I was wandering around in my undies without a second thought! The photos are fab and I'm really pleased with them, I would imagine most places are similar in the way they relax you and make it a really enjoyable experience so you will be fine. I took a ton of lingerie and different shoes and I'd also recommend some big statement jewellery if you have any. My photos cost around £500 for one framed shot and an album of 10 photos but they do offers all the time.

I've just been looking at some boudoir pics. Will the photographer just tell me what to do or will I have to make suggestions? I guess every company is different!!! I hope it's a female photographer!!!

My photographer was a woman, I think they all are - for female shoots anyway, although I may be wrong. She suggested all the positions, they generally know what will suit different people best. We started off with some fairly low key poses to get me feeling comfortable and then as she felt I'd relaxed she suggested some more daring ones. At no point did I feel pressured to do anything I didnt feel comfortable with.

Ah Meggiemoo, let us know how it goes.

I'm just looking into one for my OH, as I'm a tad shy so he would never expect this as a gift. Glad to hear others enjoyed it nd found it worthwhile...just to learn to not hate my body now Smiley smile

I had one with a friend of a friend who is a photography but wanted to get into that boudoir shoots as well.

The experience was great - I really enjoyed it but the actual photographs weren't as good as I hoped for. Just seemed quite amateur.

I would say definitely do it just be 100% about the person/company you choose!

    This!

I do photography myself and I always look at other peoples pictures.

I have just stumbled across a website and I'm sorry to say, I cringed. The photos are poorly edited- blurring too much sharpening, rubbish backdrop making the pictures look like they are from the 80's, completely wrong angles and terrible lighting. I bet they paid a fortune for the shoot too. It's a shame

I would love to post the site address but I don't want to offend anyone if they are on here!

I think this was my fear as, even though I say I'd refuse to do something I'm not comfortable with, I would probably just do it but you'd see the fear in my eyes!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be a woman but I have seen a couple of places that have male photographers too. I would like some extra pics but don't think I can justify the cost. As part of our package we get two pics but it now says they have to be the same picture, just different sizes. Why would I want an extra copy of the pic? For my toy-boy? Bit on the side?!?

If it looks good I think it'll be hard to keep it until our wedding day but know that would be the best time to give it!

Of the people who had it done, what was your OHs reaction to it?

Mine loved it, a bit taken aback at first as it was the last thing he expected me to do - I'm generally quite shy but once he'd looked through them all it was a struggle to stop him showing all his mates! Although there is a framed one in our bedroom that I keep forgetting to hide when we have people to stay - especially my mum and dad!!

I did mine for his Christmas present last year - we hadnt decided to get married at this point or I would have waited to get a bridal one done. I had the photos taken in September and I so nearly gave in and showed him several times before Christmas but managed to keep it a secret, just!

Hi babe, please don't worry about having to 'pose'! Your photographer will have done lots and lots of shoots with nervous girls and will be expert at putting you at your ease and coaxing some stunnning poses out of you. They should know all the best angles and lights to use to make you look gorgeous - don't forget ite not in their interest to make you look bad! Just try and relax and listen to what they say -most of all have fun!!!

I have just got back from my boudoir shoot and it was AMAZING!!!!!! It was a male photographer which I wasn't keen on but he was extremely friendly and clearly knew what he was doing. As part of our voucher deal we got to choose one pic for free, but I also decided to buy three extra pics for £100. I figured I'm only going to do it once (although I wouldn't say no if the chance came up again!!!).

Anyone who is considering it DO IT!!!!!!!!!! I was petrified to start with but by the end I was walking around everywhere in just a basque, knickers and stockings! My pics turned out better than I thought they would and I think my OH will love them on our wedding day. Shame I have to wait 9 months to give them!!!
