Bra help!

zoface, 24 August, 2015 at 19:22 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi

I need help with regards to a bra for the wedding.

I have a dress which has both straps and a back so you would think this would not be a problem however it is a low back and the straps are lace so can see through them - bra with straps looks silly.

I need a bra which is:

Low backed or can have back-converter

Strapless or clear straps

.....oh and it needs to be size 32F.

Has anyone had this or similar problem before and what did you do?

My dress has a built in bra bit so is fine without. The size means you may be limited so how about s strapless bra that has detachable straps and buy a set of those clear plasticy straps to go on instead? Or can you wear strapless and pull the back down a bit or would that still be too high?

A bra that has extra long back strap that comes really low then crosses over and fastens at the front of your waist?

if all that fails I would consider a normal bra as I mentioned first, swop straps for clear plastic then buy one of those low back ones that you may not find easy to get in your size and get a seamstress or at least someone with a sewing machine to chop the back off one and sew on the back from the other. Then again I've always been a bodge it sort of girl. It may not look perfect when undressed but would prob be fine under your dress and work for you.

Do you tend to have to use only certain underwear shops for an F cup? Maybe ask them?

Or ask the dress shop if they can put a built in bra into the dress so you don't have to bother if they think that would give you enough support.

My dress is similar, wonder if its the same one. mmmm.

I don't have massive boobs tho so not in desperate need of a bra. However, I do plan on speaking to the seamstress about getting one sewn into the dress tho. Is this an option for you?

My dress is very similar and my bra size is also very similar to yours so I knew I wouldn't feel comfortable not wearing a bra.

I went to John Lewis and explained to the assistant what I needed then she picked out a suitable strapless bra - not all strapless bras would have worked for example the Wonderbra with the hands wouldn't have worked (that's the one I was looking at).

She then gave me some back-converters that pull the bra right down and fastens at the front.

I also asked my seamstress to add some loops into my dress for my bra to go into so that it doesn't ride up throughout the day.

    Hope that helps Smiley smile

Just had a quick google, and a few things have come up. Not sure how far down your back your dress goes, and what your budget is, so these are a few different things:

http://www.ultimo.co.uk/shop/low-back-body-dd-g-cup-1111/nude Second most expensive, and can only be worn with the straps, but they do clear straps.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Party-Bra-Sticky-Maximum/dp/B00DXJMYOU Not sure how these work, but, they exist.

http://www.bridal-lingerie-shop.co.uk/low-back-bra--bustier-4415-p.asp Most expensive one, but could work.

http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_152010108886_-1 This is out of stock on this website, but if it's something you like, there may be other stockists.

I'm a 32F and my dress has been fitted so close to me I don't need a bra so it might be worth asking the shop how it will fit before spending too much money on it. From other experiences of wearing strapless bras I find the wonderbra one brings the girls up round my chin so look good but presses on my ribs so not massively comfy. The stick on cup things do work and this is now my personal preference for strapless. Only note is it's a really weird feeling when you pull them off (sort of feels like your nips might come off) lol!!
