Breaking in Wedding shoes (tip)

jen-lou, 10 May, 2015 at 16:23 Posted on Planning 0 7

I've been trying slowly to break in my wedding shoes, they are just a little on the tight side. After doing some research on the best ways to break in shoes, which included wearing thick socks and walking round, which didnt seem to do anything. The next tip was using a shoe stretcher and i've got to say it has made all the difference. I would recommend anyone buying one of these it stretch out shoes if they are a little tight.

😃 My shoes are custom made for me for weddings but this last pair I got are a bit tight and then I saw your post, so I thought I would go look up one and found this😃 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plating-shoe-stretcher-machine-can-expander-shoess-Length-Width-and-Height-/121338541415?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c40573567

? HA HA HA @Bruce, that's amazing, my shoes didn't even cost half of that price. I just got mine from amazon, think it was less than £15.

I broke my shoes in by standing in them every time I did the ironing!! It did the trick and I was used to wearing them and they were comfy to wear all day.

They say for breaking in leather shoes to warm them with a hairdrier which softens the leather. Then let it cool whilst wearing them and they should fit fine!

I've done this on other shoes but was reluctant on my wedding shoes as they are covered in glitter and I don't know how that would react to the heat of a hairdryer.

Yeah I wouldn't do it with glittery shoes!
