teapotty, 19 October, 2012 at 18:02 Posted on Planning 0 25

Anyone else have their dress from The Bridal Gallery??

They have put notice on their website that they are closing its stores and they will 'do their best' to fulfil orders.

Tried to phone but no answer.

Oh dear, my dress is from Liverpool bridal gallery and I read your post and thought that can't be the same company my shop is so popular!!! Turns out it is.... My dress is in and I have a fitting in 2 weeks and so I presume I'm ok but will be calling them morning just in case!!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Thank god your dress is in. I paid a 50% deposit last year on the premise that it was ordered then. But I called them last week and they said it wouldn't be ordered until 6 months before wedding.

Oh no, I hope it works out alright for you, whether that be them fulfilling your order or you getting your deposit back, best of luck! I must admit it's a bit of a shock (as it is to them according to their website) as so many people I know have gone to the liverpool shop In woolton , it's always busy and very popular.

Thank you for your email, and can I firstly apologise for any
    inconvenience and
upset this has caused. It is not the decision we wanted to make, but we
    were left
    with no option unfortunately.

Our first concern today was to get around all our shops and collect
    bride's dresses,
accessories and bridesmaid's dresses for all up coming weddings, to avoid
    these
being taken. If you know your dress was in one of our shops then please
    rest assured
we have these in a temporary secure storage unit and will be contacting
    you very
soon with regards to collection. You will definitely get your items.

If you currently have something on order with us but has not yet come into
    one of
our stores, then our aim is to still deliver these as we intended. We took
    the
option we have to close our stores so we could aim to do this, rather than
    you being
left to fight for a refund. Letters have already gone out to our suppliers
explaining the situation, and asking for their cooperation in supplying
    all items.
We hope, and expect, this will not be an issue as it is in their best
    interests to
not cause you any further upset.

We will begin contacting brides whose dresses we have tomorrow by
    telephone, but all
brides can expect a letter to arrive on Monday with further information.
    We also
hope to speak to many of our suppliers in the coming days and be able to
    pass on
    good news straight away.

Once again please accept our apologies and know we are working night and
    day to
    resolve the issues.

    Kind regards

I can't believe it as the shop had such a good reputation - my two best friends got their dresses from there last year. My dress was ordered and id paid £500 deposit. I have emailed them to ask for them to contact me.

I am so angry for mysef and all of the other brides who have lost out on money and even worse their dresses.

I live right by the one in Liverpool and the police were outside last night as a groom was there annoyed as his fiancee couldnt get her dress - who can blame him!!!

Let's all stick together and try to sort this out xxx

Hi I've paid for my dress in full Infact tried it on again on just Wednesday gone... I emailed twice today... And received a call ensuring that my dress will arrive later this week. I'm still anxious and will remain so until my dress is here! At least they seem to be contacting customers.

I would just like to say, I turned up at the Chester shop yesterday where I spoke to very devastated Chester staff, my friend has become very close to these staff who have always been more than helpful. And we know if the staff could do anything to help my friends situation they would, these poor staff have lost there jobs which many of them have been doing there for many many years, and will not be receiving any wages this month.

I ordered back in July -paid £800 deposit for a dress and hair accessory. I was told last week that the accessory was in store and I asked them to hold it until my dress came in, which was due in a month. I can't get any sort of response and have a small window of opportunity to order the dress again elsewhere; according to the new store just two weeks otherwise it will be too late! I just want to know whether I'll be getting my money back / headdress. The focus is on brides whose dresses are in stock understandably, but they are leaving the rest of us in Limbo. I can't afford to pay for a dress twice, and have my heart set on this one Smiley sad So upset and frustrated! x

    Hey everyone,

from what I've heard you have no chance of getting much out of the Bridal Group. They are massively in debt - reportedly over £100,000 owing to Pronovias.

Eternity Bridal Wear in Warrington are posting on Facebook and in the ECHO that they will assist any brides looking for help.

They have an arrangement with the agents for Pronovias and Jenny Packham to step in.

If you paid by credit card you are covered or by insurance. Apparently not all companies bad!

The shop is closed so you won't get a fitting.

You need to contact the administrators/liquidators first thing tomorrow and if the dress is there appeal to get it.

Hi Sallyhey, who are the liquidators to contact? I have no idea - that's what's so frustrating!

Also, you brides might be interested to know that one of the Group directors has posted more info on this forum - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4242331&page=2

I tried to find that out but they are not showing the details yet on the insolvency website.

    http://www.bis.gov.uk/insolvency

This should give the information about who are handling the insolvency.

You have to fill in a form - found on here and send it to the liquidators. Do this fast as first come first served.

Usually its also posted in the local newspapers and pinned up on the premises.

I notice they are still selling on ebay though

    http://members.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=brides-boutique

maybe these are the dresses they took out on Friday - looks like an attempt to start a new company?

They have put on their website that they definitely have not taken any dresses for personal gain, the dresses were taken with the liquidators permission and taken to temporary secure storage. My friend is getting married in 3 weeks time and they are delivering her dress to her home tomorrow, they are calling people whose dresses they have in storage in date order and arranging delivery, I get married in 9 weeks and so I am hoping for my call today...

Hi, I am also getting married in 9 weeks. I had my phone call yesterday, and they are due to deliver my dress on Thursday, so if you havent yet had your call, you should expect to hear from them today. I do think they are just extremely busy trying to get everyones dresses out that have their weddings within the next few weeks, and contacting in wedding date order. Just want it to be Thursday now so I will know it is safe.
