Bridal Party Roles

Bridetobe16716, 21 September, 2014 at 09:11 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hello everyone.

I have a question I hope you can help answer. Having chosen my bridal party,I felt I had to include my cousin (who I don't see often) into the wedding somehow. I was going to give her a reading but knew that would be a disaster since she can be shy so I decided to have her walk down the aisle with my flower girl and page boy and help me with any unexpected glitches on the day. I have been trying to think of a name for this role but have hit a brick wall. Any ideas? Xx

Tbh thats the role of a " Brides Maid". Could you possibly include her as one?

How old is your cousin? if she is over 18 she could be a witness? x

A co-ordinator? Not a very jazzy title though. I'm sure someone on here will come up with better!

We're asking someome to do something similar for us too, not walking up the aisle but dealing with issues and arriving early to supervise suppliers setting up etc.

I agree with the suggestion about a witness - that's what we will be doing for ours for two of our close friends/family that we have be unable to include in the wedding party elsewhere.

I think the suggestion of a witness is a good idea (if they are over 18).

    Hi

I recently was this person at my Aunties wedding! She had 2 Bridesmaids but as my dad has passed away she wanted to make me part of her day in a way to symbolise my dad if that makes sense. So she offered for me to go in the wedding car with herself and the bridesmaids and my nan who gave her away. I didn't have the same dress as the bridesmaids but i got a floorlength dress and it turns out the colour co-ordinated with my nans outfit so it all kind of mixed together. I walked down the aisle behind the two bridesmaids. My Auntie called me a flower girl in the end.

    Hope this helps

Witnesses don't actually have to be 18 or over. We had this issue because I wanted my niece (who was my bridesmaid) to do it and she was 17 at the time. I checked the government website information and all it says is that witnesses have to be able to understand the significance of what they are witnessing. Our minister agreed that, as a 17-year old she was perfectly capable of understanding it, and so she was one of our witnesses.
