Bridal Shop

Perfection Weddings , 9 June, 2012 at 17:31 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi Ladies,

As a lot of you know i own my own venue dressing store. Well we have found out that the occupant next door is not renewing his contract at the end of the year. I have always wanted to own a bridal shop and this is my opportunity but i want it to be something different.

MY IDEA Smiley laugh

I would like to open a store that stocks non designer bridal gowns at low prices by designing our own and getting them made and having popular copies also.

They would be priced from £150 to £1000 never any higher and the majority would be priced between £300 to £600.

Then bridesmaids dresses would be priced at £70 to £150

What do you all think?

Thankyou in advance.

Love Layna

Would be good, but I think you might run into copyright problems with the copy dresses.

Would you sell the ones you had on show, or order them in? I would be dubious about buying from somewhere that was going to buy from a copy website.

There is shop like this is my city, and I dont think they do very well, its always empty. Its not a rich city either and its in a prime city centre location. Couldnt tell you why it doesnt do very well mind you!

Good point about the copy dresses may steer clear from these.

They would still be order in dresses it would work the same as a typical bridal shop but not designer so half the price tag?

When you say design your own and have them made, there may not be enough profit on the lower end price range once you have designed it, bought material, paid a seamstress and covered your overheads too. You'd probably need two seamstresses at least to cover for holidays,, sickness etc. There's an awful lot of competition on line for the budget end of the market too but if you could stock middle of the price range dresses maybe go to a few trade fairs and have a chat to some suppliers.

This. For me if it was a choice between buying a copy of a designer dress or buying the designer dress second hand I would definitely buy it second hand.

Price point is good but I think you may be better going down the preloved route rather than copy dresses or having own designs made.

Ill explain it a little better. I have found a company in china that will make my designs for me so they would have our own label inside. We will then have a seamstress instore to do all alterations and to add things onto dress to custom them to a brides choice.

They will be beautiful dresses but by us not maggie or benjamin roberts lol
