Thanks Sara-Jane, have made a note of those 3. Are there any that you wouldn't recommend? My friend said that one of the ones in St Albans she didn't like but can't remember the name now!

It's a bit further in but I can definately recommend Belle Bridal in Totteridge, north London - it's run by 2 lovely sisters who sell sample gowns up to 40% off the RRP. I was made to feel so welcome during my appointment, no rushing whatsoever, great advice and their showroom is in their private home - a lovely, peaceful townhouse. Good luck with your search.

One I didn't go to was Satin Bow in St Albans as they were booked up for months but they looked good although I ve heard there really expensive, but they always have beautiful lace dresses in there window. My least favourite I went to was Berketex in Watford I just found them really old fashioned. xx

gsijane-this has been the only shop I have been to so far and thought the shop was lovely, really nice dresses and Lucy was brilliant. Will definitely be going back for a second visit!

My friend receommended Brides-2-B as well-she was going to get her dress from there but in the end found another dress she preferred and got in from a shop in St Albans but she said the lady that runs it is really nice, plus her best friend got her dress from there the year before as well.

I have an appointment there on the 16th so looking forward to it.
