Bride & Bridesmad Boquets

2013_Bride_, 4 June, 2013 at 10:48 Posted on Planning 0 22

How much are yours differing? Do your BMs have the same bouquet but a smaller version of your own?

I think I'd like this for me (can anyone help with the names of the flowers in this, its bugging me);

And something like this for BMs (in pink not blue!)

    Ah that is lovely.

I think I'm quite set on having something completely different to my BMs.

Not sure logistically how that will work for my florist yet though! Smiley winking

Definitely want pastel colours for us all though.

I would definitely go different, that's what I always wanted to do! I've no idea why I didn't or even how my choice came about, I was clearly in a daze that day. The ones you flashed are beautiful.

I'm not really up on flowers but my biggest issue with choosing was everything I wanted wasn't in season in August which was a pain.

I've had my original proposal based around roses! At the time I was toying with a safe rose posy, but have now decided I don't want roses at all!

Hopefully there is more options available Smiley smile

There is one flower I love, that features in most of the wild style bouquets, but can't think for the life of me what it is!

Begins with a D. Its driving me insane! But I'm hoping its available in August! Smiley smile

I'm not sure with flower names at all! The one I loved was peonies and I couldn't have them, was gutted. If you have a florist I'd email her the pics so she can identify them, mine is great for that.

They weren't when I spoke to my florist. Yours may be able to get some but will likely cost a fortune being out of season. There are soft roses that look more like peonies than roses but can't remember the name of them

I had almost exactly the same only mine was a bit bigger and had a few more roses.

I wasn't very bothered about the flowers though - I just gave the florist a vague idea then let her get on with it ?

Some of the flowers in the first picture that you posted are parrot tulips, roses and looks like stocks and september flower.

MrsH2014, the first bouquet on your post is one of mine Smiley smile The ivory flowers do look a bit like lily of the valley in the photo don't they but they're actually snowberries as it was a winter wedding and boy did it snow for that particular Bride and Groom!

Hi The pink ones look like peonies or ranunculus and the bridesmaid blue, which you want in pink, look like Hydrangea.

    Hope that helps

Mine are going to be 2/3 of the size of mine (and the same flowers), which doesn't help you much really!

I had one bridesmaid, our bouquets were the same size - mine was mostly red with a touch of white and hers was mostly white with a touch of red.

We have two brides, and to complicate matters, we're doing our bouquets ourselves (after a friend reasonably pointed out that nobody remembers what the flowers looked like a year on). We'll hit the flower market the day before the wedding, we'll have some pins and some ribbon, and we'll have lovely rustic-looking bouquets. I hope.

Because we simply have no idea what's going to be available and pretty, we're not getting set on anything. Saving money is the goal, here- we'd ideally like to spend under £50 on the flowers. I loathe and detest lillies, so they're out. We'd like our bouquets to be complimentary, but not "matching". Essentially, same flowers in different proportions at roughly the same size.

Some flowers (in season in December) that we'd particularly like are craspedias, ranunculus, phlox, muscari, freesias, eryngium, carniations, marigolds, carnathus and thistles. And hopefully we'll get some pretty bouquets out of that for not a huge amount of money.

Your bouquet is so pretty. I'm having a mixture of cream and soft lilac roses and the bridemaids are having all cream roses in a smaller bouquet with the flower girl having a mix of cream and lilac as she's got an ivory dress with a purple sash.
