I'm from Halifax! Why are you struggling love? Are you having a ceremony at a church, and then you're struggling for a reception venue, or a venue to have the full ceremony from start to finish? We had a look around a few so might be able to help you! xxx

Have you tried Hollingworth House? Also within easy reach of Halifax are Gomersal Park Hotel, Healds Hall Hotel, Alder House Hotel, Whitcliffe Hotel, The Lake in Elland , Hilton Hotel at Ainley Top, Cleckheaton Town Hall, Dewsbury Town Hall, St Mary's Parochial Hall in Batley, although with the latter three, you may need to provide your own catering. Hope that helps.

The trouble I am having is finding a venue which isn't going to mean I have re-mortgage the house!!!!

Weare having a late(ish) church service and therefore don't want a sit down meal and we don't want to have to do any setting up or tidying! No awkward at all!!

Clay house owned by calderdale council is nice. Cheaper than commercial but still nice. Also there was a barn in batley we looked at but i can't remember the name. Oakwood something rings a bell. Once again - rustic but cheap x

I know I'm a bit slow on the thread here I was on the first page and clicked last rather than next and came across this. I'm having my reception at briar court hotel. Classed as Huddersfield but its just at the top of Ainley top. They do a few deals on so if you were looking for out of season they're great or in season if you get married on a Friday or Sunday they offer discounted rates. I can't recommend them enough. So far they've been brilliant for me.

We looked at Brier Court but they couldn't fit us all in!!! Thinking I have made a break through though!!! Berties in Elland open day tomorrow and we have our day penciled in! Just need the seal of approval of the parents and parent's in-law as they are helping us fund it!!!

Wooo Berties is lovely! If our church was nearer to Berties that'd definitely be my first choice! The crystal ballroom is GORGEOUS!
