Brides with young toddlers... ?

Steelgoddess, 15 November, 2009 at 00:54 Posted on Planning 0 3

I have a now 14mth old son who will be 21mths by the time we tie the knot...

Just wondering what b2b's did with young toddlerrs? Atm my son has a nap from 11-1pm then normally goes to bed at 630pm! im sure this will change but unsure how this will come into play at an evening reception... if im honest I would LOVE for him to be a part of things as he is a true symbol of our love and time together (been together 10 years!)

The grandparents and close friends will be coming to the wedding??

Any advice apreciated!

xx

Hiya. We have an 11 month old son who will be just 19 months old when we Marry in July. I think we are just gonna see how it goes during the day, perhaps have his pram there incase he needs a nap. As for the evening reception, we are considering hiring a babysitter until my sister is ready to leave (she's having him overnight). The babysitter could take him to our hotel room and he could sleep up there, away from all the loud noise. I think it would cost about £70 to have a babysitter come to our venue for about 6 hours, so it won't be cheap, but I don't know what else we can do with him? A Wedding is a long old day for any child, never mind a toddler. Any other suggestions?

On our day, my son was a year old. Our ceremony didn't start until 3.30, so our son had his sleep before the ceremony as usual. My Mum looked after him during the service and drinks etc and he sat at their table for the food as we didn't have a top table. After dinner (about 7pm) we put him to bed in our hotel room and that was him for the night. It all worked out OK....

Our venue has a 'quiet' room close to the hotel reception and the room/bar where we will have the evening party (but not too close that any sleeping babies would be disturbed) which has a lovely sofa and t.v so if any little ones need some time away thats the room we will use, two of my sons have asperger syndrome, one of which doesnt really 'do' crowds so if he needs some time out he will also go to the same room, we will probably find everyone crashed out there!! lol
