Bridesmaid Dresses...help!

Nicola30052010, 6 September, 2009 at 21:42 Posted on Planning 0 14

I’m finding it really hard to find dresses for my bridesmaids. I was so shocked when I found out how much Dessy dresses, and other such bridal brands were. I have five bridesmaids, which means I was looking at over £1000 for dresses they will probably only wear once! So I decided to go high street. Annoyingly I’ve picked the colour mauve as my theme, and I can’t find anything in that colour. I’ve tried Debenhams, Coast, Oasis, Monsoon, House of Fraser, Next ect. I’m looking for a knee length, mauve (or purple, preferably light) simple dress, for under £100. Does anyone have any ideas?

I was also wondering if anyone knew when sales happen and when the new winter and spring range come into shops? I am getting married May 2010.

Thank you in advance if anyone can help!

Thanks for the suggestion, it's a lovely dress - where's it from?

These are the dresses I liked from Berketex (but were about £250 each!)... perhaps you get what you pay for, but I can't afford it!

I like the long dress - is it from Very? Not sure how supportive it is though. Humm... it's moments like this that turn me into Bridezilla! x

Lol, true but it doesn't look very bra friendly!

Just found this on Very, which is lovely - thanks for the tip on that store! I might go for it!

Do you know anyone who could make them for you? That way you only need to get them a dress pattern and the fabric. My CBM is making the bridesmaid dresses. It cost me £140 for fabric for 3 adult size bridesmaid dresses, 7 cravats and sashes for bridesmaid dress and for flowergirl dress. All left to buy is the lining material and zips.

    Hi

I also have 5 bridesmaids and was worried about cost. We eventually decided on these dresses which were £185 each in the shops but Im getting them from netbrides.com for £65 each. Once you see a dress you like you could ask them for colour swatches they sent some out for me.

    The one on the right
