Bridesmaid Issues

BrideMrsT2B, 7 January, 2011 at 13:00 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi Guys,

Just having a rant really if i'm honest. One of my bridesmaids is also getting married this year but I feel like I dont have her as someone to bounce ideas off and get excited with as her wedding seems to be taking priority. This would be fine as I completely understand she has her own wedding to organise but I feel like i've helped her quite a bit with her planning and wedding fayres, invites, dress shopping etc etc. Just feeling a little tender about it all today so rant over. ☹️

I know where your coming, maybe she's just caught up with everything, i'm sure she'll be there for you soon enough.

Feel free to rant as much as you want

Ive learnt over the past few months (due to various bridesmaid and usher issues) that all that really matters on the day is YOU and YOUR GROOM!

On the day I know that my bridesmaids will be gems and do everything I need them to do and will be equally as excited, in the meantime I am putting my focus into me and my H2B and remembering that they have their own lives IYSWIM

Oh yeah completely understand, I had big falling outs with my chief bridesmaid as she let me down on 2 big ocassions, once to view the venue and second time a dress fitting, I was furious and I did bring it up with her, it cleared the air, we had a small row but made up.

It made me realise that she has her own priorities but I know 100% that on the day and on the big lead up that she will be my rock, else I wouldnt have chose her

    xx

    Hi

I think asking a friend to be a bridesmaid can really reveal just how good a friend they are. I feel so let down by the friend I asked to be bridesmaid but maybe my expectations were too high. She hasn't done anything wrong as such, but has never actually offered to do anything either. I would love her just once to ask if she can help me with anything, even if I say no it would be lovely to know I have that support. We've paid for her dress, shoes, accessories, hair and make-up, plus a room at the venue and she has never once said thanks; I now feel that rather than bridesmaid she is just a very expensive guest!

Sorry, not much help to anyone but good to get it off my chest!

    Hey Rosie,

I know how you feel and it can be a bit of a let down that you cant be bouncing and share your excitement, ideas and dreams. Chin up though hun, maybe she'll surprise you nearer the time Smiley smile
