Bridesmaid tulips?

bexybexy, 14 February, 2012 at 18:51 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi.....so i wasnt going to have my bridesmaids have a bouquet....my flower girl has a pomander that i have made with buttons and my bouquet is buttons too....however my flowers are simply tulips in vases in purple and ivory....I keep thinking that my two older bms should have something to carry especially after reading other threads on the same subject...

So tulips? Or should i make them mini button bouquets? wrist corsages? or clutch bags?

I have 5 bridesmaid. They will be having the purple and orange tulips!!! My girls have printed dresses so the plain tulips will be perfect.

One of my friends had tulips at her wedding and they looked gorgeous. I would have considered having them, but they are not really around in August when we are getting married.

Tulips are gorgeous, I think they epitomise Spring, are so simple to put together and look lovely.

We are getting married in April 2013 and are having tulips on the tables and in my bouquet.

A big vote for tulips from me! ?

I can't have them as in they would wilt really fast in the heat, but if I was getting married in the UK I would have loved them. Your bridesmaids would be very lucky to have them as their bouquets.

Tulips sound fab. I always think they are such cheerful flowers, and the colours are so vibrant

I think tulips are an unusual choice, but as well as looking lovely they are good tough flowers. So I say why not?

They are gorgeous but can be temperamental little devils! Because tulips carry on growing after they are cut, they tend to twist and turn towards the light. Most florists will wire the head to stop this happening for you which helps to keep the shape of both the tulip bloom and the finished bouquet.

You can actually get tulips all year round, I go to my dutch sullpier nearly every week and you can bet your life they have tulips there, The only difference being that they are more expensive out of season, hope this helps those of you that want tulips
