Hi gals

I received some lovely pearl tie pins and cufflinks in the post today but in transit the pearl disc has come off the link....

any suggestions for a good strong glue I can use so they dont pop off when OH puts them on?? I'm not bothering sending them back tho did alert the seller....

I use two types of glue for cabachons and pearls - one is an epoxy based glue which comes in two tubes - the glue and the hardener. You need to mix these two in equal quantities thoroughly and they are touch dry in 5 minutes and fully dry in hours. It whiffs a bit when you use it but it dries perfectly clear and is water and heat resistant.

I also use GS hypo cement but this isn't always as strong and I tend to use this for half drilled beads where there is a post for them to stick to.

    Does that help?

Lol thats all very technical!!!! I aint buying fancy glue to fix one thing... to be honest I think I'll leave the cufflinks and get something a bit sturdier. He would break them in an instant. They didnt cost much so I could always fix them and wear them myself if I ever had a shirt requiring them....

    thanks for replying tho Ms!

We use this stuff a lot, it's fantastic. Way easier to use than it sounds and does a better job than any other glue we've ever used.

I'd use Araldite - it really holds well.

(I think this may be what has already been suggested ?)
