Brolly Opinions please

Nutsy40, 13 October, 2008 at 21:46 Posted on Planning 0 32

Was going to go for domed PVC brollys but saw this one and love it...........now my BMs are in these dresses with dark grey shoes and wraps.........kind of steel grey........should I get the black brollys like these or just get lots of ivory ones? Cant get grey and anyway think it would look pretty drab.........opinions please?

?

? Love the BM dresses!!!!!! You have great taste! Where are they from if I may ask?

I think black ones for the BM's would be nice and the Ivory one for yourself!

What month are you getting married in?

I've got that brolly - was a random Bday present b4 I got engaged. Its a fab unbrella with a great shape when you put it up.

I agree a white one for you, but black might be a bit dark for your BMs - do they do it in any other complimentary colours for your Bms? Silver might be nice. The dresses are lovely BTW

November......brrrrrh.......so brollys are a good idea.........my initial reaction was black aswell but not sure if that would effect the photos if the had them up..........would it cast a dark reflection on their face?

Those brollys are lovely. Where are they from? I'd just go for white/ivory for the bm's.

You don't want them to look quite as good as you though!

I wouldn't get them exactly the same as you because if I were you I'd want to stand out a bit, should the need for brollies arise. ? I think the grey ones would be nice, or I agree that silver would go nicely with the dresses.

I've got myself an ivory brolly from JL, my bridesmaids have smaller pink brollies (their dresses are choc brown with pink sashes) that we got from TKMaxx - they had loads of colours, although the selection is a bit random, still might be worth a look? and then we bought black golf umbrellas for the men from Primark for £2.50 each - bargain! I'm hoping we won't need to use them though and will take them all back afterwards if we don't.

I can personalise umbrellas with your colour scheme or could add diamantes for extra sparkle!! At the moment I do black, white or ivory umbrellas - did think about supplying lots of different colours but how much stock that would be I am not sure!!

If I did, what are the main colours I should think about?

    Hi Christine,

Maybe red, purple and pinks? Although you will never manage to have the exact colour I suppose to match up with bm dresses etc so then people might end up going for the white and ivory anyway. I think a sparkly brolly is a great idea.

Has Rachel (sorry if I have the wrong name) had her baby yet?

It rained all day on our wedding day and we used golfing brollies from the pound shop for a pound each ? Even tho it was raining our tog still manged to get all our photos done without a brollie in sight. The best man held one over us and dashed out of the shot each time x

I think that is the problem, whatever colours you have there are always so many more that are wanted!!

Thanks for asking about Rachel, her baby is due 12th December although she had a bit of a scare last week. I went to Portugal for a 4 day well needed break, first day by the pool and phone call from her husband to say she was bleeding and contracting!!!! We came back early (because we were worried but also because she was running Pure-treats whilst we were away!) they managed to calm everything down so now she is sitting with legs crossed for hopefully at least another 4 weeks!

Sorry folks this is not about brollies!!!!

Our supplier does Gold and Silver umbrellas maybe this is something we should consider ordering. Do you think brides would like a more elaborate umbrella like the picture below? We were thinking we could add Gold, Silver Diamantes to glam it up even more if people want something a bit different.

Hi Nutsy, someone left an umbrella like the one you've posted picture of in my work, we've had it for a few days now so doesn't look like they're coming back for it. Its black, although obviously not brand new, would you like me to send it to you?

I really like that brolly and prefer it to the standard ones. So yes I think you should stock them and tell me how much they would be ?.

I'm going to need a few of your doggy teddies next year so will just keep adding to my list of things I need from you.
