Bromley DJ Disco

heath1980, 25 July, 2011 at 20:50 Posted on Planning 0 14

Does anyone know a good DJ that will provide a disco for about an hour and a half either side of a band in Bromley, Kent?

HI, I am a Bromley Bride to be but not sure who would do that without you being charged for a whole evening. Could you not put some tunes together on a laptop/ipod and hire a small sound system for those'inbetween' moments? Might be alot cheaper.

Where about's & when are you getting married?

Might be worth trying here https://mobiledjdisco.co.uk/mobile_disco_kent.html and here http://www.weddingdjalliance.co.uk/wedding_dj_kent.php

It could save you a lot of searching time as all you need to do is pop your details on the form on each site and the members will check their availability and get back to you with details of their service and fee.

Thanks Sandy, sent through the form and had two replies already. Much appreciated. I found some other websites which listed more local wedding disco specialists on http://www.freeindex.co.uk/searchresults.htm?k=mobile_discos&l=bromley&locid=3821 and https://www.watchshopping.com/watch-guide/best-wedding-watches-for-the-bride-and-groom/ so fingers crossed disco will be sorted. Another task off the list.

Thought i would say a quick "hello" as I am also bromley Bride!

I am also currently resaerching DJs. When are you getting married, and have you got your venues booked yet?

We are having both the ceremony and reception at Sundridge Park Manor, on 17/03/2012.

    Good luck planning :-)

Oh how exciting to find a few other Bromley Brides ?.

Heath1980 where are you having your reception? Although we are getting married at a church in Chislehurst we have chosen Oaks Farm in Croydon to hold our reception. We looked at and loved Sundridge Park but was told we could only have a max guest list of 80 and we have 100 all day with an additional 50 in the evening. We got our DJ from our venues recomended list. Have you asked you venue if they could perhaps suggest a DJ? x

We are getting married at Bickley Manor...

We have booked with Embrace Entertainments www.embraceentertainments.com

Only £250... Another bargain.... £150 less than our budget so really happy we can spend it elsewhere xxx

With good reason. 99% of the time a DJ can only do one event per night, especially wedding DJs, and so although the actual performance time may be shorter than usual, the DJ would not be able to do another event on the same night, and if it's a saturday night, that would be the busiest night of the week for them, so any DJs with any business sense (in other-words a Professional DJ) would therefore request a minimum fee regardless of the number of hours; however the good thing from your perspective is that there are an awful lot of DJs with no business sense, and just doing it to earn some drinking money!... unfortunately they may give a performance to match ?

I can't answer your question, but having a quick look through "Your Kent Wedding" I've found BeeJay Entertainment, and though it looks like they're out near Maidstone, they might do Bromley.

Btw, I love all the Bromley brides here Smiley smile I'm almost a Bromley bride myself, but I'm in Orpington!

And apparently there's a service called Don't Hire a DJ (www.dont-hire-a-dj.com), provides all the equipment necessary for you to do your own DJing from an ipod or laptop. I'm not sure if that's something you'd consider, though, as it probably means someone has to be in charge of it. If you have a tech savvy usher or family member that wants to, though, it might be worth checking out.

Oohh Im a bromley bride. My sis got married at sundridge park last year and it was such a perfect day. They could only have 73 to the sit down meal which is quite limiting but a stunning venue!

Can anyone recommend any good shops for bridesmaids dresses in the bromley area? x

A little outside, actually, but have you tried Hayley Elizabeth? It's an easy bus ride outside Bromley if you don't have a car.

    I haven't been, though.
