Lola-Belle, 3 December, 2011 at 13:17 Posted on Planning 0 23

Hi All ,

Im really unsure how much you usually pay for these and dont want to be ripped off or think im getting a bargin and the quality not be as good. Anyone bought one and mind saying how much they paid?

It will vary depending on the size and style you want. In my experience, one of a reasonable size would cost around £250ish.

Quite a few hitchers have made their own button bouquets so not sure if that's what you are referring to. With buttons bouquets I'm guessing a lot of time is spent sourcing all the right elements and then the labour which would be hours upon hours. If you have the time to research how to make it and then practice before actually making it you could do it yourself. It might not be just as nice as a bought one if you have seen one you absolutely love, or it may be much better!, but you'd be able to customise it exactly and have the achievement of doing it yourself.

Another hitcher did a guide on how to make them https://www.hitched.co.uk/Chat/forums/t/188726.aspx.

One hitcher did a BEAUTIFUL brooch bouquet. If you have the patience to source the jewellery and put it all together, I'm sure it'll be much less than £250.

Hi! My beautiful brooch bouquet was much less than £250.

I got mine as a package for £350 I am having, my bouquet, four bridesmaids bouquets, two flower girls posies, 15 button holes, 2 corsages, a cake topper and seven table centrepieces.

They have all been made to my specifications and I have chosen all the colours and designs so I am really happy! xx

I think it depends on the size you want, and the quality of the brooches that are used.

I use brooches in my tiara and jewellery designs. They range hugely in cost as individual pieces, but I think that as an average guide to price, I pay around £7 per brooch. So for a bouquet that uses 30 brooches, the absolute minimum cost would be £210 just for the brooches! That doesn't take into account the wire used, any other materials/ribbon/packaging etc. And how long do they take to make? I've not made a brooch bouquet, but my crystal bouquets take a minimum of 3 hours to make, and some take around 15 hours to make. Even at minimum wage, that is around £18 - £90. And that doesn't take into account the phone calls, emails, and hours (seriously HOURS) of researching suppliers/componants/materials for each one as they are so individual.

I use brooches in my button & jewellery bouquets. They can be so fiddly and when you are bending the wire, can sometimes damage the brooches which is a shame especially if they are vintage. The time taken to make one will be most of the cost I would assume too. But they are truly gorgeous and of course, everlasting.. just wish they were around 10 years ago when I got married lol

Do be careful who you buy from. There are lots of alternative bouquet makers popping up everywhere I have noticed and you can see from their photos that the bouquets are not always put together very well. Go with good reviews and recommendations and you can't go wrong. If you are going to make your own, leave yourself plenty of time to do so.

Mine was £49 + £5 postage (on my profile pic). None of this £250 malarky, lol. It may be because she is just getting started but mine arrived already and I love it. It's a decent size and uses a mix of brooches and beads on wires. The lady was lovely and put up with my millions of emails asking questions before I placed an order.

Pretty sure she can make them to order too. If you look for Serendipity Bouquets on Facebook she has her work on there. I bought the autumn bouquet. xxx

Saw your post. I have made one recently and enjoyed it so much I want to make more. Have put my prototype on sale in ebay - artmac21 - have a look. If it's not to your taste I could do you another. I really want to make more and try and build up experience and reputation. I'd be happy to do one for you at discount (materials only cost) if you would like and I can use your bouquet as publicity (may ask for photo with you and flowers in return). If you are interested please put a question to me thru ebay (i dont want to disclose email address here)

I'd also do a love or leave 14 day refund if actual bouquet pants!

This is just a hobby I'm not a professional just like to craft and love weddings - but I'd love to make as many of these beauties as possible. Thanks. Diane.

Hi as you can see on my above post I already have my bouquets ordered but I have had a look on ebay at your bouquet and must say it is beautiful. It is lovely and you have worked really hard on it. I think your price is really reasonable! Keep up the good work! Smiley smile
