Brownsover Hall!

Pamphers, 8 March, 2011 at 10:08 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hi All

I am getting married on 2nd December at Brownsover Hall in Rugby! So excited!! Just trying to book the disco at the moment as we are getting married in Christmas party season!! The venue have recommended 2 DJ's and one is booked already! The other is available but I am a little nervous as there is no website for me to look at! I think the entertainment in the evening is really important so was wondering if anyone had any experience of Saints Disco, the recommended DJ?! I am sure they are great as they have been recommended by the venue but just a bit nervous!! They will be at the wedding fayre in May but I thinl that may be a little too late to book as Dec is such a busy month!!

Any comments appreciated!! And any other pointers from people that have experience of the venue and wedding planning would be great as I have no idea what I am supposed to do!!! Ha ha!!

Thanks

xx

    ?

    Welcome to Hitched!!

I got married at BHH two weeks ago, lovely venue.

At the wedding fayre they hold, there are usually just the two DJs there (although it may be different now as I went to two last year!!) but I didn't use either DJ.

I would look around and have a few meetings, don't just focus on the DJ who have been recommended by BHH.

    HTH xx

I am getting married there on 2nd April (25 days!) and we have booked Wayne (Saints Disco). If I remember afterwards, I will let you know what he's like Smiley smile I'm not a huge disco fan so I didn't really know what to look for in a DJ, so we went for the recommended chap. So long as he plays some music people want to hear (and I have asked for songs in our RSVPs so people will hear at least some stuff they like), we will be happy. I know a few of my evening guests are unlikely to ever leave the dance floor!

We're going with a local radio DJ, both the recommended ones were booked up when we went looking.

OMG! Lots of venue twins!! It is such a fantastic venue! I fell in love with it when we drove up the drive!! I am going to the wedding fayre in May so will be able to speak to more suppliers then! I have been to the wedding fayre at Dunchurch Park and met a DJ there from Eclipse and he seemed lovely and was the same price as Saints (both very reasonable!) so I am in a quandry about who to pick!

Ooo dotcomm if you could let me know that would be great! 25 days!! Eeeek!! How exciting! Hope all goes well for you! I am sure it will be fantastic!

Any recommendations for other suppliers from my venue twins!! Literally only booked the venue and registrar!

    Thanks for all the advice!

    xx

Still saying I can't start a conversation with you lol!

says you need to change your settings - Forum Preferences / Profile Options (or just see if you can start one with me! (contact button)

that sounds lovely. have you chosen your dress?

Yeah, all mine is booked. tbh I'm a bit bored now lol! Invites (taken forever) but finally getting done this week then it's just all the little details really.

It is exciting planning isn't it?!

Hi there congratulations on the wedding! I know a DJ that covers Brownsover Hall, he's really nice and is good and very popular (we've lots of him on a mutual client's video lol. His name is Paul Thompson and he runs Spirits High Entertainment. He is exceptionally busy and gets booked up year in year out but he's worth a try.

    His website is http://www.spiritshigh.org.uk/

Another one to try as well who is good too as well as being a singer/saxaphonist https://paulmartyn.co.uk/about.html

Enjoy the planning and look forward to hearing all about them.

WOW...love Brownsover Hall.... I stayed there a few years ago.

I can help on the DJ front. If you pop an enquiry into both these sites, the DJs in your area will contact you with details of their service and price. If nothing else it will give you a greater choice and also show you the options out there. https://www.weddingdja.co.uk/ and https://mobiledjdisco.co.uk/mobile-disco/warwickshire.html .

The guys in the wedding dja are all approved and have to reach a certain criteria so tend to be a tad more expensive.

All DJs are different and offer very different services. What suits one person might not be anothers cup of tea. Ask to meet up before booking and you'll soon get an idea of whether you gel and you've found the right one. For questions to ask, have a look at this https://www.weddingdja.co.uk//bookingadvice.html

    Hi Pamphers,

Just bumping this thread to say we got married on Saturday and Wayne (Saints Disco) was our DJ. He was absolutely brilliant. He didn't say too much, but played all the right music to get everybody dancing and took requests on the night. That's exactly what I wanted, and he did really well.

Hope you have a lovely wedding day at Brownsover Hall, I certainly did!

    You certainly are, Damian!

Worth pointing out..... the wedding DJ Alliance https://www.weddingdja.co.uk/index.php has strict entrance criteria. On average, only 10% of appliacants are actually accepted. Its the only organisation that has has such an entrance criteria.

(PS....looking forward to seeing you in a months time Damian!)

Oh I know Lisa! panic is slowly starting to set in.

Everything's booked and organised but we're not quite at the time of finalising all the details just yet! Been keeping myself busy making the jewellery for the BMs and my mum and mine lol!

You're not far behind! Once we'd gone past the 6 month mark, it suddenly just flys by!! I'm starting to worry about time running out for losing weight now lol. Got my hen weekend next month as well Smiley smile

    arrrrggghhhh!!!!
