As always in these matters it gives me huge, huge pleasure to announce the birth of baby ? Evelyn 'Bass', born at 2.46pm today weighing 7lb 10oz. I'm told mum and baby are doing well and Evelyn is "feeding like a trooper".

Please join me in sending massive congratulations to the Bass family! Well done Mrs Bass.
