Budget Wedding Dress Advice Please! x

mandij87, 16 July, 2011 at 15:22 Posted on Planning 0 15

I am on a really limited budget, so am aiming for around the £100 mark for my dress (plus I don't see the point in spending silly amounts on a dress I'm going to wear once, especially when I am lacking in funds!) I was considering ordering from abroad, but obviously am worried about doing this as I can't try on the dresses before I buy and also I have heard some really bad reviews on here. So, my question is, does anyone know of anywhere in the UK (Preferably Essex) where I am likely to find a beautiful but reasonably priced dress to fit my budget?

Thank you in advance ladies! xx

This one from debenhams has just been reduced down to £100 - http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_021010413785_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7EWomen%7EDresses

You could try high street bridal ranges such as Debehams, John Lewis, Coast, BHS etc but TBH I've never seen anything new for £100.

Theres loads of lovley new dresses on Ebay to choose from and if you choose the UK only option you could narrow down some options near to where you live and go and have a try on?

Or go slightly over budget and then sell it on?

    There are lots of options,

for instance, dont be put out by the word Sample, it means that dresses are tried on in stores, but stores make sure they are kept pretty clean and in good condition as its in their interest to look after dresses.

and have a good old look at ebay Smiley smile

You could try charity shops but i think they try for a too higher price for 2nd dresses

Also if you can get to a Monsoon outlet they do some barganous wedding dresses

You also don't have to wear a white/ivory dress I have seen some lovely coloured dresses for brides which were bridesmaids dresses

You can also get bridesmaid styles in ivory at bridesmaid dress prices. One of the dress shops I went to suggested that!

Have you thought about renting one or borrowing off of a friend? when we announced our engagement I had 4 people offer to lend me their dresses!

Also try Monsoon and dept stores in the sales. I got my dress from preloved and they have a range of dresses for all budgets. If you are on a budget I wouldn't risk a dress from abroad if you can''t afford to lose it or replace it if you are not happy with it however there have been a lot of success stories on here with copy dresses.

I would also say check pre-loved etc. You may be able to get a nice bridesmaid dress in either white or ivory
