Budgeting for stationary

Pookie8911, 13 March, 2016 at 12:00 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hiya,

Trying to get our save-the-dates sorted, and also thinking ahead to invitations. We are just thinking of going through VistaPrint, as seems to be a budget-friendly option (please someone correct me if this hasn't been their experience). We are looking at 20-30 save the dates, the same number for day invitations, probably about an additional 40 evening invitations, rsvps for about 70 invitations (then we wanted an additional print to go in with the day invitations with additional info about where to stay etc.)

What is a reasonable budget for stationary? We were thinking about £100, but don't know if that's way more than we should be spending, or nowhere near enough?

Thanks in advance!

I think that around £100 might stretch on vista print for your invitations. Don't forget about any other additional stationery items you may need such as place names, order of service, thank you cards etc X

I got our save the dates off eBay for about £15 and then our invitations from pocketfold.co.uk for about £150 (30 daytime and 30 evening- ish). Was more than I originally budgeted, I had grand ideas about doing it myself but as it got nearer I just wanted it over and done with and prefered to get someone else to do it! The main reason mine were so expensive is because I wanted a pocket style invite so I had plenty of sections to write the info about hotels etc. Am really pleased with them. Don't forget to factor in cost of envelopes and stamps too!

We got our invitations from LightintheBox - about £40 for 50 including postage. We're going to do Save the Dates via Facebook, and then I've designed the table plan and table names myself and we're going to see if one of OH's family can print them at work. If they can't, I know a few printing companies in town that we can use. We're not bothering with Orders of Service, as we're having a civil ceremony, but we might print off a few Orders of the Day and put them at key places in the venue.

We found a lovely lady on facebook who did ours. We had save the dates (50), day invites (50), evening invites (30) etc for around £100. (including envelopes etc!)

I got save the dates from vista then had a basic invitation (I do not like fuss) and a wedding website. We used Zankyou. It had all the other information on the site and it meant we could update easily if anything changed. Might be an idea to keep costs down

We did similar to pixie above.

Simple design (from wedding chicks website) that we used for save the dates (postcards), invitations (notelet sized card) and thank you card: used Zankyou for website with RSVPs and all the wedding detaisl so could get away with very simple card. Leave things in your vistaprint basket for a week or so without checking out and they send you a discount code. You can certainly bring it in for less than £100. remember you don't need one invitation per person, just per family!
