I've not much to add because don't live in rural location and have never vaccinated my rabbit either ?

Wanted to add though that when it's warm keep an eye on your rabbit's bottom to make sure it is clean as they are at risk of getting fly strike which is horrible. Google if you dare but be warned it's vile but it can kill your rabbit in hours.

    Enjoy!

This is a good website for information.

    http://www.burgesspetcare.co.uk/pet-care/rabbit.html

There rabbit food is very good and as the pellets are all the same you don't get selective feeding, therefore you get a more balanced nutrition.

We've had a couple of big epidemics of myxomatosis in our area over the last few years, and we are in a large town. Myxo doesn't distinguish age range. Vaccination is approx £12 a year. The vaccine for viral haemorhagic disease is abou the same price usually.

    Hi

I had a baby bunny a few weeks ago, unfortunately he died, not sure if it was something we did or not but he had the runs and then died about 3 hours after the first started, all i can think is that on that day we let him out of his run and he was playing in the garden, he must have eaten a plant or something that was bad for him and it killed him ?

Don't give him any carrots/lettue or anything for a few weeks, i read this this can give them the runs if they're too young, the leaflet i found afterwards was that they shouldn't have anything like that until they're 16 weeks old as it can upset their stomach.

When i get my next baby, i will be sticking with that and he won't be having anything other than bunny mix until he's older. I was devastated when he died and we'd only had him 2 weeks.

Hi all and thanks for the repplies they are very interesting to read....

so far so good with our Little Daisy! im tryting to have hher out of the hutchj about twice a day depending on the weather and she has toys in her hutch...

i live adjacent to quite a maiin road and she keeps getting a fright when motorbikes or trucks hurtle by...will she get used to them? if shes out of her hutch when they come by she leaps all over the place and hides behind the shed!

is it normal for them to leap and jump around so irrratically...its like she mental!!!

If she's running around then it means she's happy. If she's jumping up and kicking out her bag legs its called binkying and again, means they're happy.

I don't keep my rabbit outside (we live in a flat) but I've still had him vaccinated because he has a run at my mums house.

I was also told not to give him any treats at all until he was about 3 months. Try your rabbit on brocoli when she's old enough - mine goes crazy for it - more so than carrots which he's not interested in.

Please have a look at this website. Sadly most people don't realise how much care a rabbit needs.
