Buttonholes.

Bobbys_Girl, 27 July, 2016 at 21:25 Posted on Planning 0 9

After a discussion with one of my best friend about a recent wedding, I am wondering who you are all providing buttonholes for? Seems to be a mixed response to this.

    I'm doing:

Groom, BM, Dad,Dad-in-law 2 page boys

    Mum, mum in law, nan.

Not bothering with brother or sister/brother in laws. It gets daft otherwise and I'm on a budget!

I'm just getting them for the people I want to match (groomsmen etc) grandparents and the like have been told they can sort their own, which some have preferred as it means they have more say over what flower they want

So far I'm just doing groom, 3 'ushers' (his son, my son, my nephew) and best man. My lad hasn't decided if he's giving me away yet, but if not will ask my uncle and add him to the list

We're only providing two (one for my OH and one for his best man) and have told people they don't need to buy one to wear if they aren't in the wedding party.

My grandma tried to force us to buy everyone one (I mean everyone - our parent and grandparents, his parents and grandparents) but our budget doesn't stretch that far.

We've got them for the groom, best man, the two ushers, both mums, his dad, and my brother.

I wouldn't necessarily have got them for our mums and my brother but we're getting them from M&S and they sell them in groups of four, so it was that or have too few.

Our decision was nice and simple. If you sit on the top table you get one, if you arent then you don't.

    Thanks all!

Was only getting them for limited people (although unsure on exactly who yet) but was having a wobble. My friend says her mum paid for them all to have them or a corsage at a cousin's wedding as they weren't provided and I was worried people expect them for the whole guest list Smiley smile
