I live a couple of minutes away from the castle and have seen many brides and grooms arriving/leaving! Would have loved to get married there, but it was a bit out of budget.

I haven't attended a wedding there, but someone I went to school with had their weddings there and the photos on Facebook look amazing.

    Hi,

My brother in law got married there last year. It was lovely and they had some gorgeous photos around the grounds and with the moat. Is there any info in particular you wanted to know?

    Hi

I have heard from couples that it is lovely.

Think you do need to factor in though that they don't have everything that a hotel would have though so need to work out any additional costs whent hinking budget/time

Ive booked it for july this year. have everything booked etc but was just after some stories or advice from people who had attended a wedding there. how long did it take them to turn the room around for the reception? did the guests get bored at all? im starting to stress over absolutely everything!!!!!!! the caterers ive booked are very experienced with doing weddings there and also have a wedding planner to organise on the day so hopefully everything should run smoothly

The room got turned around pretty quickly - after the ceremony all the guests went outside for the photos. It wasn't the greatest weather and we did get a bit cold but as you are getting married in July you won't need to worry about that! We then went back in the room and it looked really nice and very atmospheric! I don't remember the guests getting bored at all! I'm sure it will all go smoothly for you!

No - while the room was being turned round all the guests were outside watching the photos being taken and talking. Canapes would have been lovely though and would have made the time go quicker (not that it was slow, but it would have given people something to do while waiting!)

Hi, I hope your weddiong turned out as you'd hoped. We have booke our wedding for August 2012 and have some of the same concerns you had with the switch over etc as they said that alcohol shouldnt be drunk outside but wasnt sure how much they inforce this. if you can give us any tips it really would be so much appreciated. We have only booked venue, registrar, and caterer so we have a lot to do. If you can reccommend who you used for chair covers, table clothes, cars, or anything like that it would be a gfreat help. Also, did you use cresta for the drinks or did you source your own wine and pay the corckage? Thanking you in advance. Emma and Ryan x
