Cake Baker Suggestions - Glasgow Area

MAG2FMC, 27 May, 2012 at 17:32 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hello!

I've probably posted about this before but don't think I got many responses. We are planning to lay out several cakes on our dessert table and I'm looking for an affordable baker. The cakes do not have to be fancy with fondant icing or lots of complicated decorations . . . just yummy. Does anyone have any recommendations? We'd found a 'corporate' outfit but were being quoted around £50 for a one-layer cake and £100 for a two-layer, even though the cakes are not complicated at all. Maybe those prices are reasonable, and I'm just being tight? (Entirely possible.)

Any suggestions are appreciated!

For a totally plain cake that's a bit expensive but with any decoration it's not far off average prices.

I haven't sorted my cake yet (still thinking of making mine) but I noticed Bradford bakers do wedding cakes. I don't know their exact prices but I've had birthday cakes from there and they've been good.

Is it particular flavours you're looking for? If you want really cheap then some of the cakes in Cosco are actually pretty good.

Were having our cake made by a girl called Lynsey

her company is called "custom cakes by Lynsey" and is based on the South Side.

She is making us a 3 tier all with different flavours for £180. She will also deliver to venue.

    her tastings were fab

Hi MAG2FMC - I am listed on this site which has a 'cakes' section so you might want to look on there- www.yourweddingatlochlomond.co.uk - You could try companies such as fondant fairy tales, cakes and dreams, jen's cakes etc.

If you need any more help, just let me know
