Cake emergency...advise please!!!!

claire2999, 23 July, 2012 at 17:43 Posted on Planning 0

Hi

Before I start...it's the wedding on Thursday so time is precious and I am having a nervous break down!!

We are having a non conventional Wedding Cake (bottom tier parkin made by my cousin, middle tier and top tier are shop bought- white chocolate and fruit cake respectively.)

We had bought a chrome 'E' style cake stand, but now we have put the cake layers on, it seems really unstable and seems to want to lean. H2B has had a fiddle, straightened it out and says it will be fine, but I am really not sure. Has anyone used this style of cake stand....did they survive a whole day without collapsing??? Help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say its because the top tier is fruit. It is much heavier than sponge, so will try and over-balance. Can you put fruit on the bottom?
