cake help- does this look ok??

Debntez, 22 May, 2009 at 21:34 Posted on Planning 0 19

Please help, I'm going to be having cake nightmares soon if I don't make a decision! ??

Can't really justify spending £100's on a cake as budget is getting a bit tight so me, mum and sis came up with this .......

as you can see its just a rough put together - ribbon would be thicker and the flowers would be all the way round. Also I have cake toppers which are bunches of 3 callas with ribbon and feather to match bouquet etc.

my colour theme is choc brown and Ivory and the flowers are calla lilies. Was going to hire a tiered stand and have 2 or 3 tiers.

Problem is this cake is from cosco, tastes beautiful but will everyone know its cosco?? And if they do will they even care or am I just being silly?

What do you think? Look ok, or does it look cheap?

please be as brutally honest as you like

I agree with what jules.40 said?

Taste wise - it'll probably be fab! But keep the decoration simple as it looks very very gooey!

That looks fab but I agree that you shouldn't bother with the ribbon or flowers.

Whereabouts are you? I'm in Hertfordshire and I've got plenty of cake stands including a swan which I usually hire out, but I would be happy to lend you one as you're on a tight budget.

    Hi

The cake looks gorgeous!! Very scrummy!

My father in law made our cake... we didn't like the hefty price tag on cakes either, especially when we couldn't find one we liked. We also had the same colours scheme as you.

Here it is, all homemade with things from a supermarket
