Cake pop help!

b2b1, 20 June, 2015 at 09:41 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi all

I'm not the most creative person but trying so hard to be for my wedding. Just simple but nice things....soooo I'd love to do cake pop place settings but wanted to see if anyone has done them at home before using a cake pop maker and also do you just buy cake mix etc or what all do I need? I think they would look so good on my tables but just want to make sure I can do them Smiley smile

Thanks in advance!!

Hi b2b1. I have a cake pop maker and this is terrible but I've never used it. I had it as a present so did some research and you can get recipes where you don't need the maker, you just roll the balls and put them in the oven. Amazon have all the accessories like stands, coloured sticks, the candy icing stuff you dunk them in, and also stands to put them in. Waitrose is really good for cake bits like glitter, honeycomb, icing shapes etc.

B2b1- how many do you need to make? I made them and I cook a great deal, do cake decorating etc. They can be rather time consuming and fiddly, depending on how you plan on icing them.

If you wanted something edible as a place name, I would personally make iced gingerbreads, biscuits, jars of jam/pickles/jelly with names on the lid etc. That way, you don't need a stand for every pop tart and you will save a huge amount of time.

I just google pop cake place names, and realised you can have the cake part at the base, with the stick facing up in the air. That way, no need for a stand, because the cake part makes the stand! I still think it will take ages to ice and decorate each one, but depends how many you need to make:
