cake pops! what are your thoughts?

Elixia, 29 September, 2012 at 21:44 Posted on Planning 0 9

I think they looks interesting and sound amazing! I've had a shot at making my own and have to say it ended in distaster, no biggie, the mess was nice to eat anyway.

Has anyone else used these for a wedding cake and what are you thought if you were to receive them as a guest? I was thinking of following the cupcake/wedding cake trend but these cake pops have grab my imagination!

Hiya i make cakepops, not for others! just for my kids birthdays etc, i love them and they are always a great talking point, im going to make jars of chilli jam for men as favours and cakepops for the ladies as you can get individual cellophane bags to put them in and tied with ribbons they look lovely! will try and flash a pic of ones iv just done.

did you use a mould? i bought one off ebay so made the balls really well

hope this helps and sorry about my ramblings!!

I'm not a fan of any food that's more style over substance and every cake pop I've ever tasted has left me disappointed after the initial excitement at how great they look....Its hard making any cake of that size without it drying out during cooking/storage/display

I think they look lovely, and kids would love them. But again, for me I'd prefer a nice cake a fork Smiley smile

I agree with all the other comments. I think they look great and wouldn't mind them as an extra but wouldn't be impressed to have them instead of a proper slice of cake x

I have to add to the consensus, I'm afraid. Cute idea, but I don't think it's as good as proper cake.

    (sorry for the late reply!)

Alrighty! yeah i can kinda see your point PLUS i think i need to appease the fruit cake eating older relatives. so I'm now considering a one tier friut, one tier sponge, and if i what 'cake pops' im going to cheat and put french fancies on a swewers!

My thoughts about cake pops are "yum" and "nom-nom". Thankyou for asking Smiley smile

I like them personally Smiley laugh

We had cake pops at our wedding and everyone loved them. We make them ourselves, as mini 3 tier wedding cakes so that everyone could take one away with them if they wanted. Hard work, but it has since become a business for me. I think they are something completely different to normal wedding cake. They have a different texture, more truffle like especially if you have the chocolate fudge ones. My favourite!!!
