I'm not sure if we're going for a cake topper or not, but my OH is a bit of a bird watcher and my favourite at the moment is this one from Etsy:

My OH painted them and they feature our springer spaniel puppy Barney ;-) He hasn't been very hands on with the wedding DIY but his hobby is warhammer [very geeky, lol] so painting little people is right up his street!

Ours is going to be from Artlocke designs. Expensive as we're also having our dog and two cats made, but it's clay and will last forever.

Yeah she has been put in our budget for months...we figured it could be one of the actual keepsakes on display after the wedding so worth the money!! x

Haha i'm the same with the cake not too fussed about it especially as I just want sponge and my mums on at me to have a traditional fruit cake, I love fruit but its not for everyone so now thinking of getting one layer of that and other 2 sponge but it'll take the price up again probably and i'm too tight to be happy with that haha!

I know I don't like when the icings too think and it gets sickening :/
Haha yeah can't beat a good old sponge cake, loads of cream and jam inside and I love it right away haha.

My OH and I have been looking at LEGO people for the top of our cake as he's a big LEGO fan but they're quite small so I might look into getting bigger versions made, either in icing or in something we can keep. I certainly like the idea of keeping them!
