Cakes............

HillierB2B, 25 May, 2009 at 18:43 Posted on Planning 0 7

good evening hitchers!

myself & mr hillier have an appointment with 'cake lady' on fri, now what i need is some inspiration.........

we love this style.......but in dark green/sage & white - 4 tiers

BUT although i LOVE it i cant help but think its not 'weddingy' enough

mr hillier doesnt like fruit cake so we were thinking of having a different flavour for each tier. do you think that will be too much?

any advice would be appreciated ladies

xx

    Hi

I think that cake is stunning and is plenty weddingy. We had different layers as I cannot stand fruit cake so had the bottom and middle as fruit and the top as sponge and also one of each for cutting cakes.

    I love the cake.

I went into Drukers today and they have some lovely cakes which im thinking of going with, only because I love chocolate. Just a bit concerned with the sun....wishful thinking!

I think that cake looks great!, we will be having different flavour tiers, mainly because we aren't really great fans of fruit cake and because fruit wedding cakes I think are becoming a bit dated ?

Wow nice cake, I agree with Jules about the colours though, add in an extra one to soften the green and white effect....

I love it and think it will look great in sage green and white.

Different flavours will be fine. We are having fruit, chocolate and either victoria sponge or lemon

I think it's a great cake and will look fab in your colours! I think having tiers in different flavours will make the cake really interesting!

It looks like a Lindy Smith design.

Hers are fantastic, and very unusual.

The greens should work fine though !
