Calla Lilly Advise Please Ladies :o) With Flash

Mrs Poon, 22 March, 2011 at 10:46 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi there,

I have started to think about my wedding flowers now.

I really like the calla lilly.

My bouqet will be along these lines.

This will be for my Bridesmaids.

This is buttonhole for weddign party.

My question is has anyone out there ever used a calla lilly as my worry is that the pollen will rub on my dress / bridesmaid dresses and cause a stain.

Many thanks and sorry for the big flash x

I'm having calla lilies. Your florist should ensure that they are either de-pollenised or sprayed.. or whatever it's called. This should ensure that nothing falls off of the flowers. A proper wedding florist will properly treat them to ensure this doesn't happen.

The staining part of lillies will be moved, they certainly were in all our wedding party callas.

    Thanks Ladies.

Really had my heart set on the calla lilly and now know I can go ahead and use as my flowers.

Like everyone else has said, a proper florist will remove the stamen which get's rid of the pollen. my florist is, not because of staining but because of the OH's hayfever ?

    Hi

I had calla lillies as my entire theme - didn't have a problem at all - they remove the pollen and it's a fab theme to have. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!!!!!!!!!!
