Calling all 2010 brides... a catch up

Hi Zippy,

Getting past the 1yr date is great, you don't have to say oooh May NEXT YEAR !!

I have ordered my bridesmaid dresses this weekend, there is a post with pictures of them somewhere, prob on page 3 now !!

I am looking for bridesmaid headwear (is that a word) next and next month we are going to order the mens suits. I know which shoes I want, but am hanging on to see if there are any sales coming up. The last 6 months have just flown by though.

What is next on your list of planning ?

I cannot believe i now have nearly exactly a year to go!!!!!!!!!!

I think i'm up on all the important things. I was talking to a friend today who got a STD from someone who has the same wedding date as me so i'm now in a flap about getting mine out asap!!!

I'm going to order my dress and rings this month

I can't believe how fast time is flying. If any 2011 brides happen to peek on this thread my message would be 'that 2 yrs isn't that far away" Can't believe I have been planning for nearly 16 months!!

AutumnRose - Hope you didnt mind me starting this thread, was just so desperate to contribute to yours, but I am August not July and didnt want to crash!!

I did the July one just because it suddenly hit me at the beginning of the month that it was a year but i love hearing how everyone is getting on for next summer!!!

I thought i had sooooooooooo much time with 18months to plan but it is going SO quickly!!!!!!

I am sooooooooooo excited I can't waitn until next Saturday, then I will have less than a year to go.

Just have to say I went to the dentist on Friday (I go very 6 month) & I suddenly thought when I go back for my next check up it will only be 6 months until the wedding, aaaaarrrrrggghhhhh!!!!!

That's me!!!!! I've done nothing for months, just started looking for bridesmaids dresses but think we're going to hold out until september before we have a serious look. Not getting my little one sorted until next year. Having a nightmare of a time booking the flights and hotels for the wedding but thats another story! It's like they don't want our money! x

Hey Zip, Autumn Rose and all the other summer 2010ers.

It doesn't feel as if I've planned anything for a good couple of months since I booked my florist, which was late April, but I suppose I have as we got our invitations designed and printed - that was exciting as they came out so beautiful and they didn't cost us anything as many of you know ?. I ended up buying my cousin's gf a bottle of champagne, a bunch of flowers and some perfume to say thank you for doing them - she was chuffed and really didn't expect it! She still can't open the wine though, she's due to have a baby in 5 days!

Sorry went off on a slight tangent there ?. Next on my list I think is clothes - namely the bridesmaid dresses and then mine. Will look to get all of the bridesmaids together within the next month or so hopefully and see if we can find some and get them ordered, I think once that's done it will feel like a lot out of the way. Then I can concentrate on finding mine!

Oooh I forgot about going to give notice though! We can do that this month - is it weird that I'm excited about that?! What do you actually have to do, does anyone know?

T also wants to look into honeymoons, he wants to get it booked as early as we can so we can start paying it off. My chief BM is organising my main hen do but I will have to start thinking about my other one (the one that my nan, mil2b etc can all come on and we'll all be more civilised!), thinking of maybe doing Ladies Day @ Ascot for that one, think that would be fun!

Then towards the end of the year, beginning of next, I guess I will start thinking more about favours, cake and the style of centrepieces, flowers etc. My florist said we'll have to meet up again once I've sorted my dress and colours for definite so she can make me a few samples.

Then come January we will have to pay half the final balance of our venue ? - that does not feel far away at all! I think that's when we will do menu choices too.

I think I will definitely start to get more excited when we come to do the clothes stuff.

I'm excited about giving notice too!!!! We got all the info about it when we provisionally booked the registrar. You have to go for an appointment at the registry office in the district where you live. This might not be the same one that you are using to get married even if you arent getting married far away. We live in Kent so have to give notice here but the registrar doing or ceremony will be from Sussex. Oh and you also have to pay £30 each for the pleasure, hehe more money!!!! Eeeek i can do that in 10 days!!!!!!!!!

We are also going to get our HM booked early so we can pay it off gradually. We've decided on the Maldives but there so many Islands it'll take us awhile ot work out details i think!!! Do you know where you're thinking of?

I've been looking at BM dresses this afternoon and can't find any i like at all!!!!

I love it when you do threads Zippy cos of your wedding being the day before mine and when you're getting married I'll either be rushing around like mad or calmly relaxing. I wonder which one it'll be?? Will raise a toast to you either way!

I actually made a list of little bits left today and there isn't a huge amount left which is good! So think I'm about to hit a lull in planning. Talked to DJ today (see my DJ thread), going to book him up tomorrow and I think that's the last big thing to do - other than honeymoon but that's not on my list!

Still plodding along OK with the planning - have written a list of things to do each month until the day - next up are STDs and sorting out accommodation recommendations.

Did spend a large amount of Sunday researching honeymoon destinations though! Pretty much settled on 2 destinations in the Cook Islands and a stopover in San Francisco on the way home :-)

I have a list of everything I need to do and a list of everything I need to buy and have set myself dates to do it by, and already falling slightly behind!!! GOing fabric shopping on the 25th with CBM who is making the bridesmaids dresses.

I'm nearly at the one year mark now (and under 400 days now hooray!), can't believe how fast it's going! Looking forward to being able to do things like the bridesmaids dresses, hair trials etc!

I'm now into single figures with there being only 9 months to go until the big day. I haven't organised anything ever since cancelling on Tobago (blooming flight costs would have blown the budget completely) and so now we're going off to Gretna Green. I will be getting everything booked at the summer of the summer holiday in a couple of weeks time but I'm having a breaking from looking at things as it's doing my head in!

I'm also having a change of heart on my wedding dress as it's basically a dress for a beach wedding and with how my dieting is going at the moment, I don't think I'll fit into it! Oh well. Gives me an excuse to go shopping!!!

Oh my goodness i am so excited!! Think you can tell from my other posts! We are currently looking into honeymoons at the moment.

Again, have to say cannot believe how quick this year is going!! It's good that it is flying by so quick, but also scary!

Erhem.... I am spring (April) and if anyone wants to feel better about their planning I guess I can help -

Got fabric for my dress, sent STDs, booked venue and... oh thats about it! hehe,.. I guess I'll be panicking any time round about now!

I need deadlines set otherwise will never get anything done... also we are looking for a house at the same time so the wedding has kinda taken a back seet ever since our placefell through 3 days before exchange of contract. back to the drawing board on that one.

I decided to make everything myself (re favours) so I thought its too early to start making those, I don't know what they'll be yet, maybe cookies or something home made.

I need to set dates for things as well. Although luckily I think I have everything under control I'm sure there will be something that jumps up to surprise me! If I make a list and dates I can add to them as I remember.

I have started making the boxes for favours. About 150 of them and they are all flat and need assembling. I can do about 10 before being bored to tears!!

Is September summer?

I've not really done anything recently. We've got the venue, band, minister, photographer, florist, my ring (still looking for H2B's, he's fussy), insurance, stationery sorted. I've got a final trying on dress appointment a week on Saturday so will make a final decision and order it, also going to start looking for bridesmaid dresses that day too.

Have I missed anything important? ?

Well I am 10 months one week today which is nothing! Eeek!

Booked, venue, church, photographer, cake, car and have sent save the dates and thats it! Oh god it looks really bad like that!

But I have started trying dresses, looking at stuff to make invitations, bridesmaid dresses will be black so waiting for winter stuff to come out, have emailed florists and djs just need to make a decision and have decided on Maldives for honeymoon but need to book.

I felt quite organised until I wrote that, now I am having a mini panic!

UH UH- I thought I was organised but you lot have started to panic me!

I have got; church date booked, venue booked, cars booked, my dress bought, BM dress chosen but no deposit paid yet, tog booked, moblie hair and make up girls provisionally booked but may be changing these and that's it-- only 388 days to go. Am I on track? What should i do next? OOh save the date cards bought but not written yet. What else should I do this year?

Mel - Florist? Don't know what else to suggest? You sound like you have most of the main ones booked!

Im getting married July and it will be the year countdown this weekend in fact were giving our notice of marriage this Friday wahooo .... It will be all official which is making me really excited!!!

Venue - Done, Registra - Done, Photographer - Done, Florist - Done, Dress Shopping - Date booked, Save the Date Cards - Sent...

Still lots to do though!!
