Small tip for those sending Save the Dates - when collecting addresses don't do as I did and have them scattered in rendom locations, facebook chats, emails postit notes etc -

Now I have to find them all over again for the invites list! no forward thinking whatsoever... been doing that for the past hour!!

I had all mine in my facebook inbox. Luckily for us, a lot of ours went to work and friends who live locally so we hand delivered them

I finding it a bit scary thats its less than a year to go now!?

feels a lot more real now, we are not just playing at getting married anymore its actually going to happen!! Ive got most stuff organised i think. Next on the list is bridesmaid dress but hopefully it wont be too difficult as I just have the 1 and so there should be no arguements about the style and colour as she can choose pretty much everything, within reason! ordered my dress and I have just started making the outsides of the cards. Done 4, only another 50 to go!! Thought if I can get this done at least when I can put the inserts in it wont be too bad. I am panicking slightly now that the clock is ticking away. Spending half my time on hitched doesnt really help matters tho!! he he.

right, ive decided today is going to be school work and tomorrow will be a wedding day.?

Well I am still excited about passing a year, but becoming increasingly aware of how quick its probably going to come round, and having a serious case of cant be bothered to do anything, which is scaring the s**t out of me!!!

My dress is due in next month and I have put on nearly a stone since I ordered it, so need to do serious dieting!!

As most of you say, time is flying past, less than 9 month's for us now and I also remember the year mark. I have only to buy my shoes, fg dress and to decide whether to change into another frock for the evening!

After abit of a blip we are now back on track, gave our notice a couple of weeks ago and sent std so yes, its all feeling very real and very exciting.

We gave notice on tuesday which was good! Also met with our florist for the first time. she isnt qualified yet, but had some good ideas and is very enthusiastic which is good! she is a friend of a friend and we are going to visit the venue on friday so she can see it.

I am kind of in a loll at the mo with the planning as I need money to buy more stuff, and dont get paid for another week. think I am going to ask for my tiara and veil as christmas pressies!!

bridesmaid is next on my list. only got my sister, but we have no idea of what style she can have yet. def not a floaty skirt as where we are getting married is outside and its always windy because its quite open. we dont want her flashing her knickers!! also shes got boobs so need to make sure that the dress we get isnt too booby on her!! going to go back to the shop where i got my dress from as she said i could wear my dress while she is trying on styles so we can see how they go together. Any excuse!

    Quick update from me:

I have finally caved in and am having a bouquet and button holes / corsages for immediate family only. I was quite happy not having any flowers at all but I keep being told I can't not have flowers and the bouquet I've seen is actually only going to be £15 so at least it's there if I want it on the day. Just having a small handtied gerberra bouquet, around 6 - 8 in it. Nice and simple.

Button holes are being quoted at £4.50 each which seems expensive to me? That's for roses so that may be why. Are other flowers cheaper and would it be better therefore to have matching gerberras?

Also, we give notice on Friday afternoon!

I have only got a few thing left on the 'To Do' list as I have booked the wedding and B&B for the honeymoon, got the dress and the wedding rings.

My bouquet arrived a couple of weeks ago. It's made of artificial flowers so I am able to keep it. Here's a pic of it:

I just need to sort out the B&B in Gretna Green and get my shoes and H2B has to sort out his suit and then we're pretty much done! ?

Well me and OH has just given notice!!!! All seems so real now. Register commented on how lovely and welcoming our venue is.

Me and Mr O was waiting, and all of a sudden we was both really nervous.

RAF you will be fine Friday. She saw us seperately, me going first. She took my ID and then asked my details ie full name and occupation, for myself, Mr O and my dad. Then asked me OH's full name and age. Then Mr O went in, and did the same.

    Hello my fellow 2010ers

Firstly how jeluse am I of all you ladies that have passed the one year mark, I wish mine would hurry up.

Still not got much done for wedding got reception venue and church booked and talking to caterers at the moment.

Doing reserch on florists, hair and make up and other bits and pieces but won't start talking to anyone until new year I think.

Current focus is finding a dress, I have tried on lots of lovely dresses but nothing that is right yet. Struggeling to find time to go around work at the moment but have a couple of all dayers planned in between now and Oct so hoping that will leave me with an idea as I won't be going again until Feb and then I will be panicing about ordering in time.

So ladies how is all your planning going?

I hope this is not going to put a downer on things....

We are in the process of buying/moving in two weeks and this has been an unexpected source of much stress and dare I say mega arguments over the last few days - money, budget and other nasties.... Feeling extremely stressed and worried about the whole thing. OH can't even discuss any wedding planning at the moment... I still look online for ideas, come here (when its working!) and gather ideas together as , for me, its actually fun and exciting, but I think proper planning will be postponed until after the move (if it goes through, fingers crossed).

I really wouldn't worry too much drifter. I ordered my dress back in June for an August 2010 wedding and was told it wasn't too early and that it would be in the shop in January. Well, they called me last week to say that although the dress will most likely be ready in Jan, they won't request it in until May anyway which will be 11 months after I ordered it. So there really was no point in me ordering it so early even though the woman in the shop told me it was advisable to not wait much longer!

Quick panic myself at the moment. I need a utility bill dated within 3 months for Friday. I checked the one I had all ready this morning dated 31st July - perfect. Or it would be were it not 31st July 08... How have I not spotted this before?! My electric bill is the only thing I don't have paperless billing for so I've just phoned my supplier who will get something out to me so fingers crossed it arrives on Friday morning - nothing like leaving it until the last minute! OH is ok, he has a phone bill but I'm not on the account for that as we only got a phone so we could get broadband.

Thanks for that shops keep tellig me that need a 6 month order time which means I really need to ordr by march andI have tish weekend and one other Sat to look and then no time until after Jan (you have to love a busy life).

See I knew there was a downfall with paperless billing somewhere and this is it, I think everyone should try and keep one offical letter in their name arriving at the house as I will have the same problem when I join the libary after my next move.

    Tango22

moving is stressful, so I hope it all goes well for you, hitched (when working) is the perfect place for all things weddinging I use it so that I don't bore OH and othe rfamily memebrs witht he thinking mind changing idea stage of wedding.

After calming you down this may stress you again but... don't forget to factor in enough time for alterations. Maybe another month as you don't want to rush it and be stressing again closer to the time! I'd say you'll be fine if you wait until Jan though and put aside two days - book the first up with as many appointments as you can possibly fit in and the second one to revisit any shops with dresses on your shortlist. At least then you still have Feb as a contigency!

I know, I'm trying to 'do my bit' as we keep getting told we need to - although for me it's more to do with a lack of wanting to shred piles and piles of paper! - and I now may have to wait until October to give notice instead (next Fri afternoon appointment) so would have wasted a half day holiday from work as well. I've been waiting to give notice to send out the save the date cards and am disappointed that I may have to wait on this as well.

Hi zippy, dont they say that planning a wedding and moving house are two of the most stressful things to do in life, and your doing them both at the same time, things are bound to be a little tricky! Im sure two weeks down time on the wedding planning wont hurt, and then it will be so much more fun planning the wedding in your new home!! Ill keep my fingers crossed it all goes through ok for you!

Ive been a little slow on wedding planning lately...funds are running low so thought I would let them pick up again before I spend any more! My china/ebay dress should be here in the next 2 weeks....very exciting!! And then next is to meet a florist, im still toying between real and silk flowers, might do real for me and then cheaper silk for BM's, really not sure yet so keeping my options open, going to try and get an appointment with the florist in 2 weeks time - we also get a 10% discount if we use the florist that the venue recommends so that migh thelp!

Got the DJ sorted last week so thats good though!!

    Hi all

I have booked everything, ordered dress etc. I have booked my mobile hair and make up girls but I really am stuck about what to do with my hair. I am swaying towards a half up half down do but as my date is august, it might be a sweltering hot day and my hair frizzes as i sweat my **ears** off! But I can't see any nice up do's that I like. Also my hair is just past my shoulders and want it to be longer before I have a hair trial as I can't afford more than one. What do I do?

We have less than 6 months now and time seems to be going quite quickly now. ?

Going to sort out cake next month and really must try to get bridesmaids together to get the dresses sorted. It still seems ages off so haven't done anything about hair, makeup, flowers etc

And we've booked and paid for the honeymoon to Mexico - here:
