Thank you! Yeah we are really pleased with the venue!

We stayed at the Elfordleigh a few months back, it was lovely and peaceful, the food is DELICIOUS - its gotta be one of my fav restaurants!

Have done quite a lot of organising in the last 2/3 weeks to be honest. Have the venue, photographer & honeymoon sorted and deposits paid, everything else is 'in hand'. Hopefully my dress will be chosen by the end of the month, so thats another major thing done.

Have you put any pics on of your wedding yet?

Well, we were using a friend of a friend (£300) but she recently showed us finally her first wedding portfolio. It was okay, but only that. I didn't really like her composition and style so we decided to look around. We just couldn't believe before how much photographers cost. We met with Ben Simmonds today though and he's doing a special credit crunch package and he seemed really nice and I loved his photos so we booked him! My biggest issue at the mo is sorting out bridesmaid dresses. Not going well at all.

    Hi Kerry

I want orchids too they are BEAUTIFUL!!!!

    BUT...

The dress I am 99% sure I want has got ivory rose type flowers on it.......

Am a little bit gutted about that - but have decided that if I have to have ivory roses in my bouquet thats not such a bad thing, I can have orchids too!!

Am trawling the net atm (as always) sorting out my colour scheme - Here goes, I am on my 3rd colour scheme now. My first one was turquoise/fuschia/white/grey(suits) , but want ivory dress now, so tried out orange/white/grey - god fed up with that within 2 weeks, so my third scheme is ivory/hot pink/lime/grey - much more summery!!!

Whoop!!!! - If I can get my colour scheme sorted asap I will be a happy bunny!!

    Hi Lia

I love that coloursheme Ivory/pink/limegreen/grey, ours is Ivory/chocolate brown/hot pink/baby pink so similar.

Flowers are a bit tricky with us as we may be getting married outside weather dependant, if its raining it will be inside so ive got to plan flowers that are moveable!!! Our wedding breakfast room is edwardian, pastel shades and hads lots of chandeliers where as our evening room is a modern room dark wood imagine 'out of Africa' style!! So ive got to pick flowers i can move to keep cost down but also to fit with both styles argghhhh.... the lady i met though was brilliant knows the venue and shes going to come up with some ideas cant wait to see...

You can add some hot pink orchids to tye your colour scheme in and get the best of both worlds!!!

What about the below for some inspiration...

    Hi Jo

Thats a really awkward situation to be in with a friend...... i too was shocked at the price of photographers....... i got quoted £2500 by one!!!!

Glad you have found a photographer now......I too am on the hunt for bridesmaid dresses might go have a shop sat as OH is away so may get a short list!! Im going to buy my CB highstreet as i want her to be able to wear it again and not sure about the little girls yet, monsoon and next have some prettly simple cotton dresses that i could jazz up maybe. What colours are you looking for ill keep my eye out!

    Hi Kerry

Yeah your colours are similar to mine aren't they - we shouldnt really have a problem with flowers to match our schemes.

Talking about the bm dresses, I think what I am going to do is with my little girls, I am going to buy them a plain white/ivory fairy style dress (from John Lewis or something) and buy a colour co-ordinating sash with a flower from another website to add to it. Will prob cost £80 each all in, then its just the shoes say £20 tops, sorted.....

I am never going to be paying £180 for little girls bm dresses from a bridal shop NO WAY!

I have a day off work tomorrow, so think I am going to visit a couple of florists with my designs and colours to get some quotes?

I managed to grab my OH yesterday (rare occurence) to help me with the seating plan (we have an odd shaped dining room at the venue to work with). We cut out big circles and wrote everybodys name down and laid it all out on the table, made a final (ish) decision and stuck them all down with glue! I feel so much better about that department now!?

What are you concentrating on atm?

I got my BM dresses from Debenhams and it was £32. My daughter loved it and looked beautiful on the day.

I used the florist in Stoke village and they were also fantastic, couldnt do enough me, and when I explained about our budget being a little tight they were amazing.

If anyone knows anyone who wants some jars for a sweet table for a wedding im selling mine.

Hope everyones plans are going well.

    Hi Lia

Yeah colourshemes are very similar............ive got the same plan with little bridesmaids and the sash idea (hot pink) for me!!! Next, monsoon and as Zoe said debenhams have some nice ones especially if bought in the sale!!! Not really sure whats next.....suppose need to sort out rings, wait for quote from florist etc and start making up invites but cant do that till our friend finishes the design but i can buy all the stuff to make them....will be kind of reaching a crossroads soon which imm glad as i can enjoy OH'S 30th Oct, Suprise trip to Vegas Nov then Christmas, then get back on the planning waggon Jan in the sales!!

    What about you?

    Hiya Kerry

Wow you have a busy few months ahead then!!

Talking of sashes, Ive been eyeing these up for past few weeks, I love the sashes on this site [View:http://www.1-special-day.co.uk/satin-sash---15-colours-available-1860-p.asp:550:0] have lots of lovely colours!

OMG I totally forgot about the January sales for wedding bargains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What was I thinking? Im gonna go bargain hunting CRAZY!!

Im a bit nervous about doing my invites just yet, just until we meet with the registrar and make sure that the time and date are finalised! Havent decided whether to DIY or buy them yet - they are sooo expensive aren't they? But Im thinking, by the time I buy all the bits and bobs to make the stationery, I may as well have bought them ready made?

I am going to a Wedding show on sunday, so before then I will find nice bouquet pics and other arrangements that I like, as there will prob be some local florists there and am hoping they can give me a rough quote. Also have been looking into the hire of vases for my tables and am waiting for quotes back.

OH has some best man 'issues' to sort out this week, so have given him a list of his very own stuff to look for, suit styles/suppliers etc. keeps him busy and out of my hair!!

    Hi lia

Yeah a manic few monthes and thats without mentioning the 2 car races my OH has, his wrist operation late Nov long story but he has had a broken wrist for approx 2.5 years now!!! Ohhh and our best friends wedding Dec!!!! Its a bit manic to say the least!!

Im liking the sashs.....doh what were you doing forgetting January sales lol!!! Best time of the year he he......

Good idea about the florists im assuming your going Plymouth Pavillions Wedding Show? Is it on Sat & Sun? If its on Sat i may pop down as OH is working away.....

Invites wise im making myself, that suits me and i quite enjoy doing things like that...... i had it all designed etc but then our friend whos a Graphic Designer has offered to help so why not....off the top of my head its costing me £1.60 an invite for the materials, which is a pocketfold, background card, invitation and then 3 inserts rather like this but square and in our coloursheme http://www.fairycakecards.com/page14.htm ...although i havent shopped around yet so im sure i can make them cheaper i made my std cards for £7 the lot including envelopes, not including stamps as i get those for free through my dad as he's got his own business. I think it depends

What kind of ideas are you thinking for invites??

I like the fact you are getting your OH involved mine is having no partaking in planning what so ever as he wants a suprise lol!!!

    Hiya Kerry

Broken wrist for that long - ouch!!!

Its always manic at the best of times in our house, two kids, me working part time, OH working eves and weekends, tidying up after everybody, trying to plan a wedding!! never enough time to do anything!! Evenings from about 9pm is my ME time!!

Christmas coming soon OMG!! Havent even thought about it this year!

I love making things, always have done, just never find the time these days! My friend at work has a friend who is a graphic designer who can do my invitations so need to look into that at some point. I need to get on this next week. Have seen some lovely designs that I like, but the whole lot, stds, invites, eve invites, placecards etc comes to about £400!!!! Although have seen a rip off version on vista print but am worried they will look a bit cr*p!! May require your help with which websites to look at next week?

Yeah he didnt realise it was broken for a year of that and now after bone grafts etc it wont heal so he has to have a pyrocarbon bone put in 'fake bone'!!!

At least you get me time from 9pm!!

I know stationary does mount up im lucky as our venue do placecards, menus and table plans so i only have to do invites, Order of the day, thankyou cards, not to bad really...

No worries about websites just let me know...

    Hey Kerry

'Fake' bone wtf!!! I feel sick.....!!

Ok, I have given in and just bought my bm dresses online from that website with the sashes!! They were half price reduced down to £24.99 each and they had one left in each of the sizes phew!!!! They are selling off their sale stuff on ebay so I bought it on there instead so at least I am covered by the returns policy etc. I have gone for the white - have decided today that my dress is going to be white now instead of ivory!!!!! Dont worry, Im even doing my own head in these days!!!

    These are the dresses

    http://www.onespecialdaywholesale.com/annabelle-white-flower-girl-dress---no-sash-supplied-820-p.asp

Cant wait to receive them, gonna buy the sashes and corsages later on!!!!!
