Calling all Hitched campers...

Thats if your not away for the bank hols that is lol

We finally bought out first tent yesterday. We got a Coleman Columbia 10 for £99 from £200 from The Motorist center (TMC) and now on the look out for equipment and camping essentials.

Also we are planning our first trip away the weekend of the 13th June and was wondering if you could recommend any sites by the sea that you have enjoyed? it would need to be approx 3hrs drive away from Bucks/Northants/Beds border.

Great Yarmouth, Southend on Sea, Kent, Lincolnshire have all been about that distance.

If you were doing your first camping trip again what is the one thing you wish you had been told?

Um I would have asked the warden more questions liek where we could wash up and if they had a freezer for freezing for re freezing our Ice packs.

I used to camp as a kid so it all came flooding back!

I would avoid Lincolnshire - flat mud plains! North Norfolk is nice - Wells-next-the-sea, Cromer, Hunstanton are all good. Can't remember Great Yarmouth although I know I've been there.

I first went camping when I was one year old but I find the trick to stress free camping is to keep your stuff in order. Keep dirty clothes separate from clean, keep things tidy and in boxes/bags (we got some of those collapsable boxes to keep things together). Also take plenty of bin bags for wet/dirty things, so you can get rid of rubbish daily, etc.

    Have a great time!

Hi That is a great website but I founf teh uk Campin and Caravaning club site the other day. It was really helpful.
They are really nice on the phone when you book too.

Only thing is they dont show reviews I dont think anyway.

I am lusting after a new tent but not sure we can justify it at the mo. but it is on sale and you can stand up in it!

I wish somewhere would do Part Ex tents!
