I got married 1st time 3rd of June so it was sort of end of May.. hahahah

and it PERSISTED DOWN.. unfortunately, but.. the photos were lovely when the rain stopped we got chance to get out and the surroundings in May are stunning.. Very green and some flowers/trees/bushes etc Rhodedundreons. (appalling SP) were out and looked fab. I thought if it had been really sunny it wouldnt have looked so good.

But we are getting married in Feb and definately getting umbrella.

True. Guess the rain is just one of those things. I'm managing my own expectations in that if I plan for it to pour with rain, and it doesn't happen, the worst thing will be I've wasted money on umbrellas and wellies. I can certainly cope with that!

CB I was the same.. I knew it was going to rain and anything else was a bonus.

Just remembered.. my makeup lady said she had just done another bride the same day, they had a open horsedrawn carriage and a marquee on the lawn by river.. They got married 1-2 hours before me and they would have had the rain..!

and it was really PERSISTENT rain until the photos and we got some indoors and some out.

I was soooo glad that wasn't me.. and need to be sensible if it does rain..! but enjoy the bonus if it doesnt.

This time, thinking we will be indoors probably but any other thing will be bonus xx

I got married on the 1st May, it was nice first thing and then it started pouring down about 11.30, I had spent weeks before the wedding obsessing about the weather ! But actually on the day, I thought oh well what will be will be.......luckily for us it stopped raining about 1.45 and the registrar agreed to delay the wedding to get the venue set up so we could get married outside. But equally getting married inside would have been just as special.

All you can do is go with the flow.........

As for flowers I had peonies, tulips, roses, gerbera's and freesia's and something else !! Lot's and lot's of choice in May !

We can have everything indoors, it's just it's so much nicer if we can use the outside too. I will have to be extra specially good to persuade the Big Man upstairs to make it sunny! That's the kiss of death for the day if ever there was!

We got married on 2 May 09 and it was glorious weather so we were really lucky. Especially as we got married in Cornwall at a Hotel with a huge beach. The room we got wed in overlooked the bay and we managed pics on the beach (in my wellies)

I have to say, even if it had rained it wouldn't have dampened the day any as it was wonderful - brollies would be a good idea just in case

I don't really have any May bride words of wisdom as such but just for any bride to take the opportunity with hubby to stop for a while, look around and take it all in. It goes so quickly (We also didn't drink much at all until later in the evening which meant we remembered everything!)

Also meant to say for table flowers we had vases of cream and yellow tulips - simple but beautiful.

Well I got married 26th April so nearly May! lol

Flowers - we have hydrangea which were in season. Love love love them!
